Rolex service 2 years delay

Hi, walked into Rolex Beverly Hills today to send my 6263 for a new spring (and other general service) and they said we'll send it off to CZ and expect it back in 2 years. Hah.

Who's the best alternative for repair and service stateside? I want to be very careful, this is a 6263 with zero damage, unpolished, etc.

Thanks for any advice.

There is no consensus "best," but there are many threads discussing and recommending independent watchmakers. Try the forum search function or a google search such as:

site:rolexforums.com vintage rolex service
site:rolexforums.com independent watchmaker vintage
etc.

There are a few good watchmakers around and the Valjoux movement is not rocket science. You still should look for a watchmaker familiar with that movement.

I might look at the old Rolex RSC in SF at 210 Post st. Giovanni Passalacqua has a few decades of Rolex repairs under his belt.. Give him a call.

Why not try LA watchworks in Pasadena they are experts in vintage refinishing and also do full service. Not cheap either but good quality work.
