Question reg Yacht master blue 40

Is the blue solid color or sunburst shape similar to Milgauss pattern?
I have never seen one in person.
I understand that it may not be very popular, is it hard to get?
Thnx

Yes. Beautiful piece. I have to force taking the rhodium dial for a walk over my blue at times. Don't get me wrong, the rhodium is gorgeous too, but I favor the blue. It definitely flies under the radar of buyers.

The sunburst on the YM40 is less "sunbursty" than the Milgauss, if that's what you're asking. This YM40 config is very underrated IMO & like others have stated: flies just above the treetops. Personally, I like the rhodium (grey) with light blue seconds hand over the blue sunburst. https://www.rolex.com/watches/yacht-...6622-0001/dial

Is it hard to get new from an AD? IDK, never asked for one. The YM, like other steel sports Rolexes, is popular, but not nearly as much as a GMT2 or a Sub. There are a few ADs & boutiques between LA & San Diego if you want to go ask around. There are also a few grey dealers located in the area like Bob's, BriBoxer, Tony Geha, Jacek...

The blue sunburst dial really pops in the sun.

The SS YM is one of my favourite Rolex sports pieces. Being dressier than the Sub makes it more versatile. The navy blue sunburst dial looks great.

Thank you again, I have seen the Rhodium dial in person but never seen blue. The blue looks like a solid color in some photos and sunburst in others, thank you kindly for your great replies which explained it. I will ask my local dealers for it.

The blue dial YM is on of my favorites.
The sunburst dial is absolutely magnificent in full sunlight, however it can look quite a dull blue in subdued lighting. Under some lighting conditions it looks almost black.
You should try and see one in the flesh to fully appreciate the beauty of this watch.
