Is this Sub 116610LN Legit?
Hi,
I recently got a 2019 116610LN from a friend. He originally got the watch from another friend who supposedly acquired it at retail al a local AD. I have the box and card. The card matches the serial on the number and it's signed by the local AD. We're in Portugal, so I don't think someone would fake that specific AD. I compared the box and everything is a match - fakes tend to have poor boxes. However, there's a thing about the watch that's a little odd - the crown action (it winds perfectly but it grinds when winding very slowly). The movement also seems to make a small metallic noise when shaking it (seems I'm not the only one who has experienced this). I'm attaching some pictures. Let me know what you think. Perhaps it only needs a service and polishing. |

Take it in for service. Why do you think it's fake?

It's still within the warranty period, so that's definitely a possibility. Thing is: sending the watch through RSC at my local AD is taking upwards of six months.
I have my suspicions because it's too beat up. Even though I don't see any red flags, it could be one of those Chinese super clones. You never know.. |

You mentioned it was dated and signed by your local AD. Why not take it over and ask for verification. Whether the AD truly sold this watch to person that is listed/written on the warrant card?

With local I meant within the country. It's still 600 miles away from me (I live on an island). There's a different AD here, though – do you think they have access to the database?

google your serial number. modern fakes could look very similar to the original. You have two options - verify with AD or have movement visually checked.

I would go to the AD and tell them your concerns. See what they say and go from there.

This watch is 100% genuine, probably just in need for a service.

They all make some sort of noise when shaking. Why do you feel that your friends are less than forthcoming?

Looks good to me. Would not worry about it. Send in for a service and enjoy!
