Help to ID a vintage model
Hello all, I was wondering if I could have some help identifying this model and confirming if it is completely legitimate or a Franken of some kind. I can't seem to find an identical dial online.

Ladies cocktail watch, probably 1940s or 50s maybe?. Bracelet is not original to the watch. Looks legit to me. You wont find a reference to the model number or serial number since enthusiasts havent compiled a list for these watches.
The inside of the case should have markings that will tell you the gold content.

Was the sun seconds dial an after thing? Swiss made is chopped off. Interesting though, nonetheless.

Thank you! Do you think it could be 1930s? I see more of this case shape from then, but you guys know better than me! |

This type of case shape was used from about 1918 to at least the mid-1930s, but there were subtle differences made through that period, for example early examples have bent wire lugs soldered to the case whereas later ones have integrated lugs.
It will be difficult to pin this one down accurately unless there are some gold hallmarks inside the case back. A lot of these have UK import hallmarks which includes a date code, so its worth having a look and posting photos. Others things that might help are looking at what movement is fitted and finding out when it was introduced/discontinued and also researching if other watches have that type of Rolex emblem on the case back. This stamping is unusual and quite distinctive with the two small circles at the bottom corners so you might be able to find other watches with this particular emblem on them. |
