That watch is gorgeous. You show great fortitude. I detest attaching Rolex and investment in the same sentence but that is a investment in class and impeccable taste. That’s a statement watch and it’s saying all the right things.

Why is this not an investment piece? Do GMT's not hold their value as well? I know it's not a Pepsi GMT but it's still beautiful!

Because it’s solid gold. PM pieces don’t hold their value like SS pieces.

I need exercise at lunch time, just have to get out of the office. Seemed a reasonable destination for a good walk

£34k

Funnily enough they had a skydweller rose gold on rubber strap and it was £37k. Preferred the GMT, although the thing about the skydweller is that is very unique

The older I get the more yellow gold curious I become.

I really do love it. Tried one on last summer while on vacation in Spain. Haven't seen one locally, but I'd really be tempted to buy it.

Sure, they won't hold value or appreciate quite like stainless steel models have traditionally done, but you only live once!

I read that article about higher end/rolex demand in London being impacted by theft/crime. Suspect it’s not just London.

The only investment you should consider is the investment on your happiness. Please.

Exactly.

Stainless steel watches are cheaper so they are accessible to a wider variety of buyers that don’t have the cash to buy PM, but that only matters if you want to flip the watch for a profit.

If you intend to wear and enjoy it, rising in value or not is irrelevant.

Buy what you like and like wearing it.

That's a heavy hitter piece!

Definitely seeing the PM offered more and more now from the ADs

Really attractive piece and I'm not a gold fan. However, I might convert after seeing this.

Love it! I also think the TT version is the best looking TT in the entire Rolex catalog. My company had a banger year and my stock and bonus is going to be large. I wasn't going to buy any watches this year but I'm sorely tempted...

You should buy it!

I acquired a 116718 about two years ago and wear it a few days a week. I have no regrets!
