AP x John Mayer

Sorry if posted already, this looks incredible. And he will be doing more work with AP in the future it seems.

I don’t like the blue grip tape on the dial.

I like the look and the sub dials but the surface itself is meh...

I also don't like the way the 31 is positioned on the date sub dial. Seems oddly out of place.

I didn't understand the ring around the dial at first, but it represents the number of weeks in the year. That's a different take on a perpetual calendar. First time I've seen something like that. I like it...

Not sure it is fair to judge the dial treatment until you see it in person. I bet it is fucking incredible.

Is this not the same dial as on the white gold jumbo?

It's going to look beautiful. Unfortunate I'm no superstar. AP will allocate limited edition to VVIP high status.

agree, 2D pics lose all the nuances which can only be appreciated in person.

The outer dial with the weeks have been there for the current QP's.

Yes, it's a a watch forum and AP subforum and people commenting like AP dropped not new complication or color but a whole new line of watches ... reading some comments felt like I'm reading Mens Health or something...

Similar idea, but seems shinier and with larger texture.

This looks absolutely fantastic, and am glad they did a collab with John Mayer.

I initially thought this was a Tuscan dial.
I am curious, when they announce a collaboration where the only difference is a dial pattern, what is the special /signature contribution of the collaborator…or is it more of a marketing strategy?
I would expect a number of collectors on the forum could propose very cool dial surfaces, and even nuanced subdial designs. Ultimately, I don’t mind connection with Mayer who appears to be a sophisticated collector.

Brutal when only the music or athletes can get one of these. Not sure why they even publicly announce something that no one except LeBron, Jay Z, and Mark Wahlberg will have.

John Mayers official (!) title is "Creative Conduit", whatever that may be. Probably means, as has already been said, that this is not the last collaboration with him. Should calm down the collective nerves after the Cactus Jack excitement.

Hodinkee explains his role pretty well. He is a bit of a conduit between top collectors and AP and will provide a feedback loop.

That’s very interesting…and confusing, to me.
Mayer is providing collected feedback from top collectors back to AP?? I didn’t envision Mayer hanging out at GTGs in that way, but I give him a lot of credit for being so connected if he does.

Watch looks incredible, and i'm sure it'll look even better in real life.

And doing a collab with John Mayer is quite a statement. He is arguably the biggest watch personality out there.

Seems like a rehashing just on another level of the Tuscany Dial 25820PT I have in platinum

Here is another photo of the new John Meyer compared to my 25820PT I do love the blue in the new John meyer

Great comparison shot. I’m not sure what qualifies as a Tuscany, but the new one looks like a less refined version [in photos]. In reality, I expect something different/new, but your Tuscany dial still has an unmatched refinement. They’d make for a nice pair.

Yes having the matching set would be a hell of a set of grail twins. But I honestly want the RO new version of the time only

Simply gorgeous. I was in the minority who felt the Cactus Jack rendition was awful; imo this (and the 38mm blue code, and time only ROO) was a home run!

Can't wait for John Mayer to buy all 200 watches so no one else can have it

Absolutely love it, one of my favorite releases in recent memory. Well done AP!

Whilst most collabs are quite statement pieces, what I like most about this is the genuine beauty. It's not bold at all, just well-thought-through. Well done AP / John Mayer. Too bad we will likely never see on IRL :) #art
