PM watch vs career.
Do You think it is strange, when a person with an average profession such as a firefighter, teacher, policeman, salesman, etc. carries a precious metal watch?
Compared to doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, managers, pilots, etc? |

No, I think "good for them"
And some of the "average professions" you listed are arguably much more difficult than the latter.

Not strange. But maybe I expect a story behind it like a gift from their father and his father.
But also some pilot gets paid only like $70k, while that kid at Facebook is making half a million a year. So hard to tell what people really make or keep for that matter. Sent from my SM-S918U1 using Tapatalk |

No, it's not my business how people spend their money.
For all I know, they could be from generational wealth and decided to be a firefighter. I can promise you that if I was from wealth, I would have done something much cooler (and lower paid) than finance. |

What exactly would be 'strange' about it? Strange how?
I'll be wearing PM soon, and you may see me unloading a recovery truck with a 18k Sub on my wrist (I do so with a BLRO at the moment). What the man in the street does not know, it's my name on the side of the truck, and the truck is just one part of one of my businesses! Don't be too quick to judge. I read about a lottery winner who won big in 1996.. he is still a window fitter part time for something to do! |

Anybody who can afford it can carry a PM watch regardless of what they do for a living.

I recently sold the company and in my time I devote myself to cryptocurrencies, at home I did not enjoy so I started for 24 hours shifts to firefighters, I am at work 7 times a month so I was interested. |

I know a lot of “sales” people who have several PM watches. Why would that be strange?

I don’t know. I think everything should be in proportion, which is ironic, because I’m usually the first person that doesn’t like how people judge others based on the watch they’re wearing.

Let's not forget that English may not be the OP's native tongue.
Sometimes things one says -- or tries to say -- in a foreign language can come out in a way which was not intended.

Wear whatever you want, people will maybe judge you but unless you’re working for them, it’s not going to change your life.

As a Police Officer, my profession is anything but average, and yes I wear my Meteorite GMT just as well as a white collar professional!

Not strange if they're single with no kids.

I'm in that category, no pm's, but my sub and daytona were hard enough to get.
However, I know a fireman who drives a Porsche 911 and has a WG daytona. Course he's also unmarried, no kids, and is a welder on his off days....He used to cut firewood also, but I think he's got all the welding work he can shake a fist st currently. |

Wow. I learned a VERY long time ago not to judge someone based upon their clothing or their occupation.
