Silly pronounciation question

Is it sub-muh-reener like in submarine.

or sub-may-riner, like Iron Maiden's "Ryme of the ancient Mariner"

OK, I know that was dumb, but still :)

The accent changes as a result of the ending consonant.
Not uncommon in the Enlish language.
Very common in French.
Marine, like in U.S.
Mariner, like in Rhyme of

But I believe that "sub-mareener" is the correct term for a pitcher who throws underhand or low sidearm, which is to say that the release point is below the belt, a la Ted Abernathy, Kent Tekulve, and the late Dan Quisenberry.
