My dad was given a Patek...

He used to collect Rolexes, and is beginning to get back into it, which is cool. His wife gave him a Patek Phillipe and I am not sure what model it is...it has a few complications on the front and if you turn the watch over theres a lunar star chart moving thing on the back. Any clue what model that might be? its rose gold.

Also, do Pateks tick or sweep like a rolex?

thanks.

Patek's are super nice watches !! The second hand should sweep like Rolex, Omega, etc.
Got any pictures of the watch ??

The only double-faced patek is the 5002, in rose its called the 5002r. It's a hell of a watch, with a price over $1 million US...love to see pics!

And patek watches tick, several times per second, giving the illusion of sweeping, just like a Rolex or any other mechanical. However, the 5002 has no second hand.

Hmmm, do you think she may have got him a knock off to be cute?

That watch costs over 1 million dollars and you can't just walk into an AD and buy it or order it. You have to apply for the right to buy it.

As do I, unless your dad runs in wholly different circles than I've ever seen!
