First Tudor
Got my first Tudor today. I am fairly impressed. Having owned a Sub years ago which ended up being stolen. Then getting a DJ, Explorer II, Speedmaster, I wasnt thinking of getting another. When the monochrome showed up it piqued my interest for some reason. Tudors never interested me the BB58 with the vintage look didnt appeal to me, the Pelagos I liked in photos but didnt like when seeing it in person.
Tried on the BB monochrome and was sold, having a price 1/3 of a Sub with a metas movement was a no brainer for me. I like the metas certification, the look and 41mm is right and despite people saying a Rolex is more comfortable than a Tudor I dont feel it. It feels as weighty and comfortable as a Sub imo. I am not a fan of the rivets but as others have pointed out once its on the wrist you dont even realize they are there. The adjustable clasp is fantastic EVERY Rolex and Tudor should incorporate this, on the fly extend is such a nice feature. There are subtle differences but this model really is a Submariner substitute for those that dont want to wait or spend the money for a Sub, hope Rolex doesnt read this and make Tudor change it up or pull the model in the future. |

Design wise the 12 series got the Submariner back where I'd like (short of a return to aluminum), but the crappy movement has caused me to pass on current Rolex. The Tudor has an outright better movement, so what's not to love?

Nice looking piece. I think Tudor needs to reduce the case thickness to sell more of these though. Ceramic bezel insert wouldn’t hurt either

Ya know, I think the ole' maxim of Tudor not "scratching the itch" is for the most part accurate.
That said, if there ever was a viable 124060 substitute, it has to be this new Tudor. Great pickup OP |

I have to agree on the enthusiasm around Tudor. I bought the Opaline dial Tudor GMT almst a year ago and it dominates the wrist time. I wear it on multiple bands and just love it. Like the brand so much I got the BB 54 for my son for his 30th birthday - let's hope he shares my enthisiasm!

Congratulations. A really nice watch.
I have one Tudor (BB Heritage) and it does make the Sub look rather overpriced. Obviously they are not the same, but Tudors are built and now certified to a high standard. I wouldn't part with my Subs but Tudor's VFM is impossible to miss and the BB's style is timeless. |

That was my thought when I first saw it. Wow did they sneak this one under Rolex's noses now that they are in separate buildings?
