Which would you buy?
Which watch would you buy? I am wrestling with a decision and would appreciate some intelligent input.
A white submariner 1680 5 m serial with last years RSC service papers or a 2000 GMT Master II. 16710 with all boxs, tags, papers etc. Both watches in excellent condition and both priced around US5300. I would really appreciate your vote/comments as to which one and why. |

Since I am not into paying a higher priced old watches that anyone can buy pretty much everyday , I would go with newer Rolex thats less than 10 years old, thats just me.

If I had to buy one, I would buy the white 1680 because I already have a GMTII from around the year 2000.

Hard choice. Both have papers that verify them being genuine so either one is a good choice. I am starting to like the 24 hour hand.

I'd go for the GMT, mainly for peace of mind over servicing in the long term.

if they're both priced in around $5300, then its a tad high for the current market, esp for the GMT IMHO ...
Or is it BOTH for $5300 and not each?? |

$5300.00 usd for a 16710 is very high dont you think? For even money I would take the sub any day.But they are 2 different watches and you will have 2 be the judge.

While I'm a diehard GMT fan, the 1680 is a special reference and would be my choice. The tall crystal is such a unique feature.

Thanks to all for your comments. yes the GMT is expensive but it is here in Australia and in mint condition would explain that. I guess I always knew I wanted the 1680 but you know how it is, before you commit you always look at all angles, and its always interesting to read the different comments from all here. Always room to learn.
So I purchased the 1680 around an hour ago... and all things going well I should have it by this time next week. Now all I have to do is wait.... |

If the question was about the 1680 Sub and the 1675 GMT then I would
really go into deep thinking, but between the 1680 and the 16710..??? I do not have to even think twice about it...1680... 1000% |
