hi guys,
does anyone have any reference to literatures or materials that discuss how baguette hour markers are fitted and secured to the watch dial? Thanks! |

It seems like Rolex had a section on their gem-setting quality and specialists. But I can't find it now.

But for Baguette dial, the baguette diamonds are fitted in a frame that has 2 prongs on either end that hold the diamond in place. Now I understand why baguette dial is more expensive than applied romans. In addition to baguette diamonds themselves being more expensive because unlike gold numerals which is just foundered gold, non-lab diamonds are naturally occurring and must be selected and cut, the "work" of affixing the markers is more costly for diamonds than for numerals. According to Rolex literature, for diamond set dials, 4 disciplines are involved: gemmologists, gem setters, designers from Creation Division and case/bracelet engineers. https://newsroom-content.rolex.com/-...18_english.pdf |
