Ok, so I did some digging on my own; pending confirmation from an expert.

But for Baguette dial, the baguette diamonds are fitted in a frame that has 2 prongs on either end that hold the diamond in place.

Now I understand why baguette dial is more expensive than applied romans. In addition to baguette diamonds themselves being more expensive because unlike gold numerals which is just foundered gold, non-lab diamonds are naturally occurring and must be selected and cut, the "work" of affixing the markers is more costly for diamonds than for numerals.

According to Rolex literature, for diamond set dials, 4 disciplines are involved: gemmologists, gem setters, designers from Creation Division and case/bracelet engineers.
