Icon5 1972 gmt 1675

What do you recon this one will bring? I was thinking about bidding, but I'm not sure if it might get crazy. Any help? Thanks.

I fail to see how it is worth anywhere near the money the other posters are saying. New style bracelet, no box or papers and service? Where?

I would say some where between $2500-$3200. I would want to get it closer to 2500.

You need to spend 6-8 hundred for a proper bracelet, another 800 to service it and then you might have a 4k watch.

Have to agree. Unless the market moved on me, I don't believe that a 1675 without the provenance collectors need would sell that well.

The watch is not 100% original like it left Rolex in 1972.The bracelet is a newer style. I would not pay more than $2500-3k for it if I really wanted it.

I just checked the photo's and I noticed something, the red 24 hour hand is the lowest, I am no expert but I thought the hand stack was the same on all 4 hand Rolex models, no matter if it was a GMT ar a GMT II....or and Exp II or even a GMTIIc....I thought the hour hand was lowest and the 24 hour hand second lowest....am I mistaken....in the original GMT's, where the hour hand could not be adjusted independantly, was the hand stack different?

The hands are fine on that watch. The Gmt hand is the longest hand and the hour hand the shortest.

I have never seen an original Rolex GMT modern or vintage where the GMT hand was not the longest hand.

Nikos, maybe you mis-read what I wrote....I said lowest.....not longest...

Hand stack on my Exp II and my GMT IIc are (from dial up) Hour hand, 24 hour hand, minute hand, then second hand closest to the inside of the crystal..

I have a friend who has a later model GMT with the non-adjustable hour hand and I am sure his hand stack is the same as on my more recent watches....I just noticed in the pictures that the hand stack was different....that was all.....I have never seen that before

Yes, this sounds more reasonable. Maybe pay US$3,500, tops because the advert says the watch was recently serviced so you could save on the servicing cost.

The watch has a newer band which affects the price. This one appears in nice condition, and with the newer band, it should sell for around $4000 as is, maybe as low as $3500.

Those quoting $2500 are either dealers buying wholesale or low-balling the market.

I'd buy every one I could find at $2500 to $3000 in this condition. Anyone have any for sale, or know of one, PM me. I'm buying. (Pictured is my 1970 GMT)

LOL! I hit the wrong button on the first response (I amended it). The stack changed with the quick-set feature on the 16750.

The hand stack changed with the GMT 16750 around 1980. The 1675 hands and dials are not interchangeable. On a 1675, the red hour hand is on the bottom of the stack, and on the 16750, the white hour hand is on the bottom.

Hope this helps.

The lume is a bit too far gone for me.

Also the lug at 11 O'Clock seems to have excess polishing.

I'd say give it a pass and look around a little more.

However, it is up to you
