Aftermarket Jubilee Bracelet Pictures
I just got my dad's DJ back from having an Aftermarket Jubilee bracelet put on and it has a damaged link.
I went with the aftermarket b/c he didn't want to spend much money on his watch, I was able to get the aftermarket bracelet, new seals, new saphire crystal for $599. The bracelet was $450 and $39.50 for a Rolex clasp. The Rolex Band was going to be $1150.00 I'm starting to think I could have gotten a better deal on the bracelet online but do not know where to look. I was hoping one of you could point me in the right direction. I will be bringing it back tomorrow b/c of the damaged link and may see if I can just get a refund for the bracelet. Here are some pics the watch on the left and top wears the aftermarket band. You can see how the links bind and the brushed section if different than the Rolex band on the left and the original band on the left. There is also a close up of the damage to the link. |

A high quality aftermarket d-link style SS Jubilee Bracelet should not cost anymore than $50.00 I would not pay more. Most people keep there original end pieces and clasp and only swap out the main links.

He used the end links that go against the watch on this one, or so he says. They are no longer on the original band.
The original band was the oval links, and the clasp is torn. I'm told these are no longer available. |

Do these end pieces look like the type that would have come off an oval link bracelet? I'm trying to figure out if he took my end pieces and put the aftermarket ones on.

The DJ looks like a 16030/1630, and I am pretty sure that the end pieces should be marked 555. At least they are on my 16030s jubliee. The end pieces you show here do not look like Rolex IMO. If yours are not marked then I would guess they may have been swapped.
I would ask for your end pieces back. |

Yes, there are no markings. I think this watch is a 1603. My newer DJ, don't know what model, has marked end pieces.
I am going back tomorrow, I want a refund on the bracelet and my end pieces back. I'll let you guys know how it goes. |

Wow, the price of the aftermarket bracelet sounds ridiculously expensive, and the price of the Rolex clasp sounds ridiculously cheap.

Update, I went back to the shop, they are replacing the damaged bracelet with another. Since it is my dad's watch, and now his money, the decision was his and he wants it left alone with the bracelet that the shop sells. His acrylic crystal was in poor shape and he is very happy with the saphire crystal and how the watch looks like new now. He would rather pay the amount charged than have to order another and search out a Rolex clasp and put it all together.
Now that this is settled I can attend to more important matters, like finding a strap I like for mine. Thanks for all your help guys. |
