Strange thing on dial GMT Master II

Hi guys,

Today I bought from an authorized dealer a GMT Master II 126710BLNR. Now that I am home I noticed a strange thing on the dial. In particular on the letter “X”. I have to worry about it?

Do you mean the ring around the bezel? There is a x from Rolex and could be your serial number as well.

Re-read this. It is ON the letter x. Take a pic and show us.

Looks like a mis-print on the X in ROLEX to me

Quality control issue perhaps - I'd probably consider taking it back to the AD and seeing what the options are if it bothers you. It would bother me, a lot.

That would annoy me so I’d take it back to get sorted…

I’m sure it’ll be an easy fix, straightforward dial swap.

Ouch.
That's a defect that RSC will easily rectify.

Honestly, I would keep it. It is an error dial and very collectable. You are lucky

Yep, I'd also just keep it, especially since you just bought it and the repair might be months of waiting in line with everyone else. If it was a new watch you have 5 years to have it fixed for free anyway. Wear it for a year or too and then decide. Without a magnify glass I'm surprised you even noticed it.

That’s something that would really annoy me knowing it’s flawed. Let us know what the AD says

Warranty repairs are generally expedited, and you will most likely have your watch back in 2 weeks or less

I would keep it since it is a misprint and it’s very special. Even though some would say it’s error dial. I would say error makes it special.

I would say this is the lowest degree of misprint and desirability , and I really wonder if anyone who is telling you not to change it would pay you a premium for it if it came down to it. I personally would pay you less than market price if it was ever offered to me, for the time I’m going to spend sorting it out with Rolex.

All the best with it. It's unlikely you'll wait months.

Wait a minute, is a misprint dial worth a lot of money?

It’s not a misprint, it’s sloppy

Well seeing dials are made in 3 different factories now all owned by Rolex, with the many thousands of dials printed each year its possible for slight imperfections on fonts especially seen under high magnification. Simple answer to original poster contact the AD from where bought it he will sort it out via Rolex themselves.
