What is your favorite dial color and configuration?

Mine is white roman dial from 162xx and 1162xx models. Love the slim black lines within the numerals on the pure white dial color. Second would be the modern sunburst blue dial with lumed baton markers. Third would be the Explorer with lumed 3, 6, 9. What about you?

Love this dial (I replaced the original champagne dial) on my old 16013. The gold block indexes and railroad track/roman numerals around the edge make it special...

The Wimbledon, which really pops when paired with yellow gold.

Black dial with big lume plots, diver configuration. Its the easiest to read and the most fun for me, harking back to my childhood and the magical realization via Jacques Cousteau that it was possible to tell time underwater.

Meteorite BLRO. It's sublime. Particularly how the red GMT pops against the dial.

Two from the Bluesy iterations ..
41mm, that blue sunburst and lovely blue bezel ..
Bluesy 16613 - purple/blue tinted dial .. I know many may not agree it was a thing but one of the earliest bluesy’s I tried on had a Cadbury Purple/Blue dial ..

I’ve always been a sucker for the gloss black dials on Rolex professional references. The deep piano black just oozes luxury and the indices really pop

That said, I’ve also owed some beauties from other brands that really are outstanding. Of note, the PAM690 sunburst blue with sandwich dial ecru markers, and the Omega Silver Snoopy 50th with applied gloss blue markers

There are so many amazing ones. It's impossible for me to choose the ONE.

I'll show an ivory dial I consider elegant, timeless and pure class:

116505d.jpeg

116505c.jpeg

116505b.jpeg

But think of serti dials, embroidery dials, stone dials, wood dials, stella dials, guilloché dials and many more. The same with colors. In a certain configuration any color goes. Too bad that wrist time is limited in the end...

I mostly like tool watches without date function so...

Explorer 124270 gloss dial for the modern vibe with lumed 3, 6, 9 hour markers and white gold surrounds.

Submariner 5513 matte dial for the vintage vibe with large lume plots and lack of white gold surrounds.

Definitely meteorite for me. I have three :)

I’ve always like the silver dial on my sky dweller.

I like variety but I seem to have ended up with more watches with blue (mostly sunray) dials than any other dial colour. I don't have a favourite style. I prefer batons and plots for the most part. I don't like jewels or Romans and I don't like Arabic much, although there is one exception.

Of what I have, the first gen platinum dial on my SS/platinum Yachtmaster. It has such a great sparkle.

I’m a big fan of the glacier blue dial found on platinum watches, such as the DD and Daytona; and of the meteorite. Don’t own any, though.

When I was a kid, my earliest watch-memory is of being in my dad's arms - no idea what age I was, maybe 7 or 8 - and noticing his watch for the first time. The dial was champagne (not that I knew that word back then). I didn't like it. I didn't think much about not liking it, I just didn't like it, and so didn't think any more about watches.

Then a few years later - I'm guessing I was 12 or 13 - I saw an ad in a magazine for a watch. The watch had a jet-black dial. I was so surprised. I just thought that if my dad's watch had been champagne, then all watches were. It never occurred to me that some might be different. Yet here one was. A jet-black dial. I thought it was abbbbbbsolutely beautiful.

I also didn't realise back then that 75% of all watches have a black dial, but nor did that matter.

That ad put the black dial on the Number1 pedestal and it's remained ever since.

Throw-in some gold accents, and I'm good.

(The ad was for a Submariner, of course; Rolex get me early. Proud marketing sheep, here!)

Black dials followed by white dials and then blue.

⬆️⬆️⬆️ for Rolex only discussion…that’s hard to argue against IMO. Although for me it’d be second, right behind ice-blue on PT dials.

There are just so many great ones and not so many that I don't find attractive it's hard to say. I'm not sure I'm capable of choosing a single favorite.

Soooo many good dials. Two of my favorites that are on both ends of the spectrum. The dazzling Azzurro blue DJ, and the matt black vintage inspired Ranger.

Would have to be the ice blue with the dark blue Roman’s on the platinum day date

I think the DateJust, with all the different bezel/dial/bracelet options available is the best of all the models to reflect an owners personality.

Obviously, there are some pretty heinous combinations out there, but to each their own.

For me, I like my DJs with a white dial w/bars, a fluted bezel and a jubilee bracelet. It is the only Rolex I like in TT, and I wish they would bring back the leather strap with deployant clasp version.

For me, no romans or diamonds, no flat bezel (although domed is ok) and the oyster is best left for the sports models...
