Paul Skenes

A generational talent

If he can remain healthy he is going to be fun to watch the next 10 years at least

The MLB All Star game is Tuesday … Skenes was named the NL starter and seeing this rookie phenom go up against Aaron Judge will be must see TV, imo

As impressive as his talent is, I'm more impressed by his talent.

Best prospect since Stephen Strasburg. Although that’s probably not a good comparison. Skenes is on another level. He consistently throws 103 mph. Hopefully, he won’t get hurt and blow out his arm. That’s always the biggest fear with these young pitchers.

I’m glad you told me he is that good because I had no idea. Sadly I only knew he was the guy with the gymnast lol

How the arm is going to hold up, long term, with a guy throwing that hard, is mostly uncharted territory. I know he throws both splitters and sliders, so keeping solid mechanics is going to be doubly important for him.

I live in Pittsburgh. The level of excitement around him is off the charts and somehow, he delivers. Really excited to see how this year progresses. This is a guy who made his major league debut the second week of may, is 6-0 (for the Pirates), named NL starter for ASG. I mean, there exists the possibility he could be a Cy Young contender by the end of the year. Talk about potentially it just living up to the hype, but exceeding it.

Enjoy him while you can. The Yankees or Dodgers will be coming for him eventually.

Fun to watch. He’s clearly the best in the league at the moment, IMO.

First time watching him, that All Star game. He looked like he belonged there, with the stuff and the ‘stache. The Soto walk should have been called a strikeout. Hope he stays healthy. Seems like a special player.

Let’s hope he may be the modern day Nolan Ryan
