Incoming Daytona 126500LN black dial
In my previous thread, I spoke of how underwhelmed I felt after trying on some Daytonas from the previous generation, specifically the 1165XX series. It just didn’t strike me in the feels. To be clear, I’ve never been a fan of the Daytona.
Then yesterday, I tried on the 126500LN and the minor tweaks to the Daytona’s design have transformed it into a far more attractive offering. The overall aesthetic has been elevated. I have nothing but respect for the Rolex calibre 413x. The feel of the winding action, the pusher actuation and reset, low part count, and a well established ease of service really epitomises Rolex’s approach to making reliable, solidly constructed workhorse movements. I’ve yet to experience a chronograph that is as complete as the Daytona. Here I present my latest addition, it will probably be permanent feature of my collection. Paid Just a shade under 25 grand for this December 2023 dated bad boy. My old Yacht-master now adorns the wrist of my wife. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thank you. I did, and the black dial looked better to me. I like the sober yet menacing aesthetic of the black dial far more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Looks great and agree with your view on the new look. Thank you for sharing the pix and pricing info as well.
Interestingly enough, seems like a good amount of 126500 black dials are now trading below 25k and frankly, that's the right number. Feels like the range will settle in that 23k - 25k zip code for black dials. I see Pandas end up in the 27-28k neighborhood. Many are still sitting out there in the Low 30s (or higher lol), with some still trading into a few people who "must have it now" but that appetite has largely been filled. great buy, enjoy it. Thank you everyone for the kind words. I am very pleased with my new black dial Daytona. And for once, I’ve finally gotten a Rolex that runs fast.

I just leave them unscrewed because I use the chronograph pretty often. Doesn’t compromise the WR, does it? The pusher action on the Daytona 4131 calibre is so smooth, it’s a true shame if we don’t use it more often. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It’s recommended by Rolex to screw them. But I think the watch is still waterproof with the pushers not screwed!

Congrats!! I too like the black dial better because of its looks in general and that it’s more stealthy than the white dial. Being a Rolex, it’ll still draw attention but hopefully less . . .

Sharp Daytona! Congrats OP
I still can’t decide white or black dial for 12 series. Someday I feel for black, someday feel for white… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
