Thinking of trading my Bluesy

Have not bonded with my 2018 Bluesy. Thinking of trading it in.
Possible new watches:
1. Omega Speedy in white;
2. Zenith chronograph
3. Rolex DJ 41 on jubilee in white or silver ( have DJ II in blue)

Or open to suggestions. Not looking to put more money in.

I also have a bluesy from around 17-18. was my first luxury watch so I've kept it for sentimental reasons. don't wear it much any more. if you are still debating, the blue rubber b band gave my watch some extra life. worth a try

Would you mind sharing why you don’t wear it much anymore? I find the Bluesy to be a stunning piece and can’t imagine being bored with it.

it's a wonderful piece for sure. for me, I think it attracts way too much attention and I'm afraid of getting robbed in California. it's a very flashy watch. I still plan to keep it for now though just in case I move out of CA or it gets safer out here.

Bias opinion here… out of the options you listed the DJ41 white dial is a pretty perfect watch IMO. I really love mine.

I love the 116613 you have as well. Totally understand when you don’t bond though.

I find the two tone too loud for me

Just not my style. Not comfortable. I have a simple Sub, blue DJ II, polar Explorer II. Tend towards the less flashy.

The bluesy is pretty polarizing. I think it’s a beautiful watch in many respects but can also be a little comical looking so I see why you feel that way.

I would suggest the DJ but only if you’re parting with the DJII…too similar otherwise.

For me I think the Bluesy is a better option than the ones listed. That’s what makes collecting watches fun because we are all different and we all have our favourites. And looking at your other watches you have the bases covered. I’d suggest a nice Day/Date but it all comes down to values especially if you’re not looking to add money to any potential trade

Bluesy is such a classic though.. if you just can't bond with it, might as well move it, if it hasn't spoken to you by now, it probably won't.

Bluesy is one of my favorites. Owned several in the past, sold them eventually. I suppose it is the hate-love relation with blue dial watches in my case.

The DJ 41 in silver is very nice indeed - and would be my choice. Seems most people want coloured DJ dials, but if you like white and silver, you (like me) prefer the more classic look.

Not sure if the white Speedy will age well, but it definitely adds versatility when you add different straps into the mix.

I would choose the silver or a black jubilee DJ41 or a Sub ND.

I love my 13LB but I don't wear it very often. Couldn't bear to part with it though.

I like the look of the white Speedmaster. That would be my choice.

Not long had my 116613lb and did worry about it being a bit flashy but so far it's not bothered me, think it's more in my head than others.

That said a datejust on jubilee with fluted bezel is just as flashy imo. Was at an event at the weekend and saw a few, I could see them across the room 20 foot away. Made me realise that the bluesy isn't as loud as you think.

The 5 digit was my first Rolex I wore it daily and loved it. However as I started collecting I wore it less and less.

Initially kept it for sentimental reasons but eventually realized it would be better to move on. It was the first watch I ever traded. No regrets. Once I got to the point where I was forcing myself to wear it out of guilt I knew it was time to move on.

I think what you're looking for is something like an Explorer (not the 2) or maybe the Tudor equivalent, the Ranger. Good luck,

Do consider an Explorer 1 over a second DJ. The Bluesy is a little too much, IMO. I also tend toward more classic references.

Get what you want. I really like blue dial watches and my Bluesy gets lots of wrist time. It does tend to stand out.

Thinking of trading my Bluesy

One of these? A splash of blue, but much more subtle overall.

I can understand the Bluesy being too much bling.

This would be a good choice. It is very comfortable and with the quick change strap option, you can switch it up

Love my speedy but don't like it with the white dial myself.

Maybe you can take more time to see if you'll bond with it, but if your mind is made up then DJ41 white dial will be a good replacement IMHO.

Based on your collection I’d try a Speedmaster. Such a classic watch to own.

What is great about this hobby is there is no right or wrong and we all have our preferences. It is a journey of discovery of what I like that is a big part of what I enjoy. I have most of these watches: 126613LB (Bluesy), DJ41 (Blue, fluted), Explorer 40 and the White Dial Speedmaster.

For me the Explorer 40 is a perfect GADA daily that brings a smile to my face. I love the simplicity and legibility. It feels 'special' and I look forward to wearing it. The bluesy I love as well but it is because it is loud and proud. They are almost complete opposites. I don't wear it daily and it tends to be my special occasion watch. I only just picked up the White Speedy a few weeks ago but I haven't bonded with it a lot yet. It is sharp for sure and more visually interesting to me than the black version, but I get more satisfaction wearing my Explorer. I really like the white dial and esthetics but legibility can be a struggle at times. The small hour/minute hands and the really small running seconds hand are underwhelming. To be fair, the Speedy looks fantastic in pictures taken of me as the white/black standout whereas you would be hard pressed to tell what watch I have on in pictures where I'm wearing the Explorer. But my daily interaction and enjoyment of looking at the watch on my wrist is greater by a large margin with the Explorer and for that matter my bluesy. I couldn't see myself letting either of those two go ever. The DJ41 I still enjoy as well as it sits in between the Explorer and Bluesy in bling factor. If I let any of them go it will likely be the Speedmaster although I'm in no hurry to come to that conclusion and still trying to give it wrist time. I do have my eye on a Zenith Chronomaster someday.

Good luck with your decision but I'd strongly encourage adding instead of swapping.

that white speedy is beautiful. I have the 3861 sapphire sandwich in black, and I'm so tempted to add the white dial one as well.
