Visited Rolex in Newport mall Manila
Staying at the Marriott and the mall is literally attached to the hotel so was walking and saw the store
Went inside and I asked any thing for sale (not sale cheap) They said nothing not even sports models and all for display only As expected I also asked about the challenger and of course no Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It would seem the strategy that Rolex use to sell their watches is consistent everywhere

I visit the Philippines three times a year and I used to always visit the local Rolex ADs.
It was always the same result, there was never anything available for purchase. They put my name on a "wishlist", but nothing ever came of it. It was a total waste of time. |

I asked my friend “what’s the point of opening and operating a shop if you have nothing to sell” lol
Oh well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve had stores tell me we don’t have anything for sale, immediately after walking in. I like my AD, i don’t like every AD. Even if i walk by one, i won’t go in. Nothing i need to see, and nothing for sale.

Had a long layover.. Can’t say I’ve been to many hotels where you have to go through the entire TSA-process before entering the building.
Haven’t commented enough to post image links. Does this look familiar? imgur(dot)com/a/aAxGLh8 |

Don't bother asking any AD's in the Philippines. The list of politicians and their family members/friends, wealthy families, showbiz people and influential people is very long and not enough AD's to satisfy their demand for status symbol items (especially Rolex). All they have to do is have the owners of Lucerne and Washington Jewelers on speed dial and get the watch they want, bypassing the need to visit those locations.

That is routine, and mostly for show. I’ve taken my bag and laptop through metal detectors and no sound. They use dogs to sniff cars for bombs, I wonder if they were ever truly trained and would actually work. Marriotts and other big US hotel chains have been targets for bombs across Southeast Asia in the past, hence the security. Philippines and Thailand also have metal detectors at shopping mall entrances (failure in Thailand last year when a kid got into a high end mall with a gun and shot a few people) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Guess have to learn how to watch and be guarded out there I’m guessing the governments have cracked down more as it impacts economy and dollars coming in Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
