1952 Rolex 6084 - interesting patina
I've had this 34mm 6084 for about a year, but hadn't gotten around to photographing it yet. I found the way the hands have burned the dial where they stopped for years interesting. The indices sinking into the dial is pretty cool as well.
The bracelet is a WAB 9ct stretch. The super oyster crown is correct to that time period as well. Thanks for reading, and hopefully you found the images interesting as well. ![]() (if you click on the pictures it should go to the higher definition images. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Would that be the radium from the hands affecting the dial?
It’s not my speed but still has a pretty neat look to it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yeah - I’m guessing whenever the watch stopped for a few years the radium burned the dial below it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Beautiful hands - and I wonder how long the hands stayed in the same position for! Have you measured the radiation ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

curious question, is it common for rolex to put reference number on top of the in between lugs just like what you have? 6084, and it does not have registered design etched below, because mostly I see the registered design on top and the reference below. I have the a vintage 6694 where the 6694 is etched on top and below the "registered design". Just seeking clarity. THanks! |
