Went to buy a Milgauss GV, came home with this instead...

Last friday I decided to do some watch shopping. In the crosshairs was the Milgauss GV, Daytona or a Datejust II. At the rolex AD the GV and Daytona fell flat for me, they just didn't get my pulse racing like they should at that price. The DJII was surprisingly amazing, with black stick dial and fluted WG bezel it was a vision of classic beauty with a modern twist. I left the AD thinking I would just grab some lunch, hit the other Omega AD, and go back for the DJII. Well I made the mistake of asking the Omega AD if he had a Ploprof, and you bet they did, with extra orange strap. It was love at first sight and there was no question that I had to have this watch. It was a feast for the eyes, and a pleasure to handle and wear. Truly a superb piece, that holds its own against the Deepsea. I wouldn't say it is equal to the Deepsea, but its very close in quality and refinement, with a rich history to back it up. Enjoy the pics, I'm loving this piece.

Mega congrats buddy. The new Ploprof is a fantastic piece. The fit and finish is supurb. The accuracy on mine has been nothing short of supurb.

The mesh bracelet looks amazing. My AD said mine would be in in a week.

Amazing photos of a really stunning watch. Killer score!!

Seeing it on the website never did anything for me... seeing it on your wrist makes me want to head over to the Omega AD and re-evaluate my opinion of it. Excellent photos.

I wouldn't either, Mark.

I admit to Omega bias but IMO, the Ploprof isn't equal, but rather superior to the Deep Sea. Especially considering that the Ploprof with all of its refinements can be bought for $6300US.

Even my wife loves the Ploprof. Now all I need is the $$$.

Congratulations on your new beauty!

Wear it in good health.

nice and congrats. That thing is huge!
that's a cool story. Similar thing happened to me a couple of months ago - wanted to get a speedy pro but came home with the GV.

It looks retro because it is retro.

It is a re-issue of the classic Ploprof which was issued in 1971.

Stunning!
I love that watch, I so wish I could pull it off but with 6.8 inch wrists I know it would just look foolish on me...

I hope you enjoy it!

It really looks stunning on you.

Congrats!

Nice! Very nice indeed, just wish I had a larger wrist so that I could carry off such a wondeful watch. Enjoy it

You have the DeepSea beat, it looks tame by comparison. What's the retail on one of these? I have not seen one up close or for sale. Its got to be a less than a DeepSea?

Retail on mesh is $9K, but discounts are more aggressive than the Deepsea.

The Deepsea has it's place, for "everyday" or more conservative occasions. The Ploprof is the "fun" watch.
