Insurance rates for Patek

I called USAA and they quoted me a $70 per $10,000 increment for watch insurance.

What are typical rates for your insurance?

That sounds crazy low. I'm paying around 2.5%

I had nationwide private client for the last 10 years and was about 0.8%. Unfortunately they left CA so getting quoted more in the 2% range now.

Just under 2% in Canada but I imagine this is more expensive compared to the US since they have more options for coverage

Have to imagine this is predicated by your zip code, I am paying ~3% in LA.

0.625% StateFarm
Very close to OP's rate.

But have safe, have double alarms, have home, auto, personal bundle.

YMMV - my zip code doesn't hurt.

A lot of factor to determine. Location and value the best indicators. I think I pay about 1.5% of total value.

Zip code will play a huge role, but State Farm wouldn't even offer me a personal articles policy anymore here in LA. Jewelers Mutual gave me a quote, Hodinkee's rate was much much better

Jeweler’s Mutual for my wife’s main wedding ring she wears is 1.3% in San Mateo County, which ends up being ridiculously expensive however it’s a limited edition that hasn’t been made for years and they’d have to make a new one, so the insurance money probably isn’t going to get there anyway.
