A few editions have been made celebrating collaborations with retailers (green 5905 in Ireland, purple 5130 in Scotland, 5230 Boodles, etc...). Very rare and some are very attractive.

Always been a big fan of the 5212 and it's nice to see Patek experiment with new color and case combinations (assuming this won't be in steel) even if they're not particularly to my taste. I still prefer the original steel configuration but it surely doesn't matter if these are limited to 20 pcs lol.

They have also replaced the handwritten font (which made the original 5212A very unique) to a plain sans serif font.

Replacing the handwriting destroyed this limited edition beyond repair, but there are 20 pieces only so we don't need to feel sad about patek (or the retailer) butchering this release

design came from PP, other that red is a historically important color for that vienna retailer

To my eye, the only thing "better" about the red one is that there are only 20 being made.

The red one feels kinda ruined by the date window and it is weird for me to say that as I have a few dark dial watches where the white date window doesn't bother me in the least.

Just to add, maybe my issue is that they apparently couldn't center the date window between the adjacent sector rings (i.e., position it a bit further left).

The font and dial color of the OG make it better than this LE. Not sure what PP was thinking here.

Isn't it a bit odd that this is a LE for an Austrian retailer but all the info on dial is in English? I would have thought German would be an appropriate choice given its market.

Also not a fan of the plain text on this one. Makes it look even busier and overwhelming with the sharp contrast compared to the regular one.

Surprisingly the limited edition model offers a peek into what the 5212 would have looked liked if PP used a standard font instead of the current hand written font style.

Even though red is one of my favorite colors, the OG looks so much nicer IMO and the other plus it’s a strap monster this LE project almost gives off the feeling of a rush job - granted 20 pieces won’t be a problem in allocating.

Bad news. I have spoken with Maik from Heldwein and understood all 20 pieces were sold. This is a day of sorrow for watch collectors.

No surprise that the 20 were sold, but…."day of sorrow for watch collectors" for sure is a reach. The OG looks so much nicer in comparison

i already told heldwein that IMHO this is a freakingly ugly piece and he should have been more demanding with thierry.

Remember that this watch is a limited local edition, not meant to be visible (no communication, no photos) that we would never have heard of if someone didn't have had the chance to drop by and take a shot (as I'm sure there still are some others unheard of in the wild).

The color is a choice of the retailer (ofter representing the shop's colors) not a choice from Patek. Yet, I imagine Patek has a veto on the retailer's demand. As usual, any dial should be seen in the metal to judge fairly. This one seems to have a satin/mate look that could look good in the metal.

And tastes being subjective...

Yes, this was the case with the 5522 in the past, local clients only, if I recall well. I wonder if it wasn't the same with New-York too (I imagine with the others as well). I asked about the 5130P Hamilton & Inches in the past but it wasn't successful either.

It appears they have used the transparent glass hands from the new 5330G for the week and day indicators. This is the only improvement on the original 5212A as the dial looks less cluttered.

Such a shame Patek have overproduced the 5212A-001. If it was discontinued after 2-3 years it could have been an all time classic.
