OF Yachtmaster dress code?

Recently purchased the YMWG 42 and love the watch. I also have a TT Date-Just 36mm (small on my wrist). I prefer the comfort and look of the YM but is it appropriate for business and formal affairs? I have been wearing it without concern but just curious of the Oysterflex affect.

Thank you in advance for your responses.

If you think rubber shoes are appropriate than your OF watch is as well

Most of the dressing rules are out the window today. You have a great watch, wear it as you want.

I don’t prefer the look - rubber straps with suits.

That’s a good looking watch. Wear the thing how you want!

The only dress code that matters is yours and yours only.

It’s been a while since I wore a suit but I would wear a slim dress piece.

Recently attended a black tie event, did not wear a watch.

I’m jeans and t-shirt almost all the time and wear everything!

Enjoy your new watch.

OF Yachtmaster dress code?

Business attire is fine if you’re wearing a sport coat and no tie.

I’m not sure about formal attire to be totally honest.

This is true.

An old rule is that with formal attire (black tie, white tie) you wear no watch or a plain face gold watch on a leather strap. But I rarely see anyone observing this and even less people noticing anyone’s watch that isn’t also a WIS

My first thought is I couldn't care less if anyone likes or approves of what watch I wear. Why worry about it? If you liked it enough to spend that much money on it, wear it all you want; it's for you, not them.

Second, if you can't put what others think out of your mind, it's 2024, have you seen what is considered "appropriate" now? I'd say any prior rules of etiquette etc are out the window.

it's now apparently "in fashion" to wear sneakers with suits, so I'm pretty sure a yachtmaster on rubber is going to be alright lol

It depends on your own style and image you want to convey. I would not do it with a suit. But that’s me. I prefer the old money, classic style look.

For business or formal affairs? Not for the latter. For the former, it really depends on what sort of business…

Just because some crowds have moved on from etiquette or style, doesn’t mean it will look good. That said, if you don’t care, more power to you!

I tend to stick with the old ways......Submariner for daily wear......Citizen Eco Drive dress watch my wive gave me for suit/tie, etc. HOWEVER, its a new day and its your watch....wear what you like.

I think it’s absolutely fine, however if it’s making you self conscious then consider the reason why.
Certainly more appropriate than an Apple Watch in my opinion.
