Breitling cost of service question
Can anyone tell me what I can expect for cost of a service. I have a Superocean and an Avenger that are due for service, and time adjustment (both running a bit slow). Also, what is the time I can expect for the service?

I sent my titanium Chrono Avenger, M E13360, back to Breitling in Wilton, Connecticut USA for complete service. They received it on January 18, 2024 and I got it back from service exactly 3 months later. 12 weeks turn-around time. Cost $1200. Watch looks brand new. Very satisfied with the service.

Breitling did a complete service, as described:
"A complete service is recommended every 4 to 6 years and includes: disassembly, cleaning, exchange of standard movement parts (including certain hands), assembly, lubrication, adjustment and setting of movement function parameters; changing all seals, checking water resistance; battery replacement for quartz watches; polishing of the case and bracelet." My crown did not screw down and I was unable to wind watch, set date, etc. The titanium crown tube threading probably got worn down after all the years I owned it. I bought the watch in 2005! They replaced the titanium crown tube and crown while doing the complete service. I heard titanium watches have this problem after several years because titanium is a softer metal than stainless steel so titanium threads on crown tube get worn out faster... Very pleased with the service. It feels as though I received a brand new watch and the money spent was well worth it. Like a car, you need to maintain the watch to keep it going. Save yourself some money and ship it to Breitling yourself. If you take the watch to a dealer for service, they will need to send it to Breitling and eventually you will probably pay more since the dealer is involved. Instructions on service is on their website under "SERVICE". They will send you a quote and take a credit card payment before work starts. Also be aware that when Breitling ships the watch back to you, it is usually 2 days expedited shipping and they require a signature for delivery. I always have my watches sent to my work address so I don't miss the delivery to my home address. Breitling sends the watch back in a nice padded watch case with their Breitling logo on it. Hope this info helps! |
