Fun TRF GTG @ Mayors In Tampa Dec 9 2024 (Warning: Pic Heavy !!!)

After much anticipation, today the vastly larger Mayors (owned by WoS) opened and we had a fun TRF GTG (see this thread https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=965377 ). It was great meeting Onequik135i and dnd2984, plus our fave sales-dude Nick, Abbe, and everyone.

Imho Mayors did a wonderful and impressive overall layout / buildout of the space, with brands clearly having their area. Thankfully, good use of video screens with balance (read: not being overly annoying, flashy, or 'commanding' visually). Decor is simple elegance, with tasteful bits highlighted within various nooks / etc.

Nick kindly gave me a private tour of each VIP room (they have a few) and must say, YES, this is what a luxurious experience should be (imho). Within the main store area, there are various-sized 'meeting spaces', which give a place to gather... perhaps savor a fresh-made coffee and talk (no big whoop :) ).

Many exhibition and pre-loved Rolexs, and most important of all meeting and chatting with passionate TRF members and Nick / Abbe / etc at Mayors. While of course there was no inventory of Rolex other than a DJ... who cares when there were many excllent brands and timepieces available. The red dial H. Moser Pioneer blew me away! i already know the movement as it is within the Heratige I wear from time to time, but that red dial truly has to be seen in person. Can't get a Rolex, here's an excellent choice with impressive precision mechanical movement, 120m waterproofness, etc.

Of course U.N. Freaks, Zenith geeks, and fun Wolf tweaks... plus Cartier were all there. Great selection of Cartier pieces too! Hey, if you can't get a Rolex, a Cartier for yourself or the wife... or share a Tank, is an excellent choice too.

What really, REALLY matters was seeing everyone and having great conversations together. Wait, I kinda said that earlier. Hmmm...

One thing is for sure, we really need to have a monthly or bi-yearly Central FL TRF GTG. Maybe in Naples, or Lakewood Ranch, or once again at Mayors in Tampa. Thanks guys for stopping by this eve and let's do this again

With all that said, hopefully, all my words gave time for the pics to download on your device. As always... enjoy your time

Thx guys, (friendly humor) i guess there are worse things to do than enjoying an evening with fellow TRF'ers as we hang out within a high-end timepiece store.

Oooooh, ummmmm... to be fair two of the Blue Skies were ADs, though interesting the two TRF longtimer passionate enthusiasts both also chose to wear their SkyD Blue. Hmmm... interesting.... []~( ̄▽ ̄)~*

My apologies, a lot of pieces were on display. i simply didn't want to go into such '100% coverage detail' and take pics of each and every item and display case. Plus that seems a bit creepy to me. Please go visit the store and report back on the 30+ cases i didn't photo :)

Please, help me help trf. :)

Plus while you are here, drive to NASA and watch a SpaceX launch.

Kudos to the Central & SWFL branches of the TRF family for rekindling a GTG. Looks like 2/3'rds favor Sky-Diddy and all are happy smiling souls but 1/2 are shy! - a sign of reasonable image AI concerns...

Prior to COVID, ATL had a robust crew that welcomed large GTGs at restaurants and an AD or two. Sadly those days are over with many of the core team now out of the flow.

Keep up the good work!

A most humble thanks everyone, and for those who missed this event there will be more in the future. Maybe get some Naples dealers involved, etc.

And yes U.N. is reeeeeally working hard in many areas. Will be interesting to see their 2025 lineup.

This was only during Mayors' Grand Opening day, but this deal was only for those who have loved / been active in horology for over 20 years, are members of the NAWCC (National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors) and / or AHCI (Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants)... plus you had to have a very special Golden Ticket from Willy Wonka.

Who here is a member of the AHCI and / or NAWCC besides Yours Truly?

PS: Who else here besides myself has donated time/currency to help https://horopedia.org ?
