Blue bi/Bluesy or ss submariner ?

Do I sound mad ? (Well I am a bit)

One of my ADs has offered me a Bluesy and a SS date (which I was on a list for)
It would have been obvious to go for the SS, but now I have tried on the blue bi its so stunningly beautiful
The only disadvantage is I might not want to wear it with a T-shirt in summer in London :(
I need to make a decision before the prices go up on the 1st

Value doesn’t mean much to me, but it’s ironic to note that the day after purchase they will be worth roughly the same, as the SS used is over retail and the bluesy is below. lol

What do you guys think ?

Tough call, but the bluesy can be flashy. I have had both over the years, and still have the SS.

What other watches do you have? I’d go with the Bluesy if I were you. But if you already have a blue dial watch, maybe not.

Not considering the pricing on the grey market, I’d definitely say it depends on what you already own. If you own a two tone watch already, then maybe the SS Sub would be better, or vice versa if you have some SS in your collection. Either way, it’s nice that you have the choice at MSRP!

I don’t do bi so there’s that and I generally default towards classic icons which points towards the SS Sub. Also, from the dreaded economic perspective it seems more logical to buy the one that will gain value rather than lose it.

I have the 116610LV and the 116613LB. They are both beautiful in their own ways and don't feel or look too close to seperate. You won't go wrong with either a SS or TT. Since they ate both obtainable and you have the means I would be inclined to go with the heart on this one. You might well end up with both at some stage.

I wore a Bluesy for 15+ years as my primary but I was in the entertainment business then. It’s extremely flashy where the ss Sub is more understated. I believe the SS Sub is much more versatile. The Bluesy was a bit over-the-top. The only down fall to the SS Sub is if it is too subdued, you might get bored with it. No doubt the blue TT sub is just gorgeous and it screams “look at me”. It’s up to you what you are looking for.

What sort of chap are you, OP? Retired? Working professional? Jacket and pants? I like the Bluesy, personally. I'd take that over a modern 126610LN. Can't go wrong either way though

Good advice here. The Blue TT Submariner is a wonderful watch and I wear it all summer with t shirts and short sleeves but the Sub date is definitely more subdued. If your main usage is with T shirts, my advice is a Sub date!!

Bluesy! Wearing it is more of an experience than my all black bezel/dial.

Good news is either way you can’t go wrong.

Not an easy decision...
I've owned a 126610LN for about seven weeks and have had a Seamaster in black for several years, they complement each other well. For me, the Submariner LN is elegant, classic and sporty at the same time. I can wear them at any time without attracting particular attention. The Bluesy is beautiful for me too, but I couldn't wear it every day because it's very noticeable. If you choose the Bluesy now, the Submariner 124060 might be a great addition later.

I recently added the Bluesy to go with my LN. I view them as two completely different animals. Some can daily the LB ... I couldn't because of my job. It is definitely a beautiful and stunning watch. Based on your description, the Bluesy was made for someone just like you. Good luck!

Another vote for the Bluesy. It’s such a fantastic looking piece. The LN is great and it is a classic watch, but it’s pretty basic.

Do not wear the bluesy with a T-shirt in London unless you are away from the high crime areas.

This would be true in any major city across the globe but you mentioned London.

Get it and wear it in good health.

This - I would get the SS now and if you change your mind later it’s easy to exchange for TT at a grey dealer.

Wearing the bluesy in london with a t shirt is basically asking to be robbed. Saying that you’d still be targeted if you wore the sub date. Sub date for me , if you don’t like,it will be easier to sell. We don’t get much summer in England

Get the SS, it’s a classic, love mine. It easier to add the bluesy later on if you still want it

Yup, much as I love London I would not wear a bluesy around town in a t-shirt. There’s been a lot of high profile watch robberies recently, it unfortunately does not appear to be getting any better.

I prefer the classic SS Submariner date. Sound like you’re leaning toward the TT … no wrong answer

My vote goes to the bluesy, a black sub is nice yes but the bluesy has that extra pop to it. Personally I’m more of a fan of the 2009-2012 era bluesy with the Smurf flat blue dial. It matches nicely w the bezel.
