Ladies Yachtmaster 169622 vs 69622

Hi all, I was browsing for a watch for my wife yesterday and came across the 169622 which I’d never seen before and suited her perfectly so we bought it. Now when I do some lazy Google searching it seems there was a 69622 first and then the 169622 later. Does anyone know when the transition was? Because the shop we bought it from had 3 in stock from 2004, 2005 and 2011 and it seemed that 169622 (from one of my lazy search results) was from 2012 so I’m bit confused. More confusingly there’s literally zero 69622 search results on YouTube or Chrono24 but loads of 169622. Did the reference 69622 get retrospectively renamed or something lol.

I found this below at Bob’s watches. I have to quibble with the information on the 29mm ladies’ Yachtmaster model # (which they say changed in 2012 with the new movement). I bought my SS/platinum 29mm ladies’ Yachtmaster NIB with all papers etc. in early 2001; its serial # indicates it was a 2000 manufacture.

It is a 169622 according to its papers.

BTW it’s a great watch. It was my daily for 20 years. It is the most comfortable and versatile watch I’ve ever owned, it looks great, and it’s sturdy. When I was looking for a “nice” ladies’ watch, the Yachtmaster blew away the competition (Cartier and Patek Twenty-4). I’m glad your wife likes it.

I just recently purchased a “ vintage” 29mm Yachtmaster in November ; it’s a six digit reference from 2000. The five digit ref indicates the older movement and hollow link bracelet style.
I was looking for the 2235 movement and a solid end link and links bracelet so went with the 169628.
I’m so happy with this watch ! A true GADA watch! I’m sure your wife will enjoy it.

Yep that’s the link I was using. So seems they’re just wrong on this one (which is surprising), as indeed seems 169622 from early 2000s. Thanks!

And yep that’s was the exact brief we wanted, something sturdy to go alongside her Cartiers. Always thought that would be an OP and was shocked to see a miniature sports Rolex option! Even better. She loved it immediately.
