Experience with RSC Dial Swap? (OP 124300)
I know this may be an unpopular idea, and I personally like my watches all factory, but I’m wondering if anybody has any experience with this:
I have an OP reference 124300 with a black dial, that’s closing in on the 5 year mark on the warranty card, which to my knowledge means Rolex will now swap the dial during service, as it will be outside of warranty. I’m looking to hopefully get the watch serviced through RSC, and to get them to install a (turquoise) “Tiffany blue” dial. I do really like to keep my watches factory, but I also don’t like to bay double msrp for a stainless watch. I figured I’d ask here before I ask my AD, does anybody have any experience with this? Are the more sought after dials (celebration, Tiffany, etc) easily obtainable by Rolex to swap in, or are they limited production like the watches themselves? Thanks in advance, cheers! |

As far as my knowledge goes Tiffany or celebration dials cannot be swapped .These dials are only kept in the Rolex factory and issued to RSC .If you have a celebration dial or turquoise dial watch and if there is a damage then only RSC will replace it. They have to send these to Rolex before they get the replacement from the factory.if you want to change from black to white shouldn’t be a problem.

Rolex is not going to do that, especially with sought after dials. If they did allow this, everyone would be picking up whatever colored dial OP they can get their hands on, and then send it in for dial swap. Also.....FYI, the Turquoise 41mm has been discontinued. Even more impossible to get the dial I suspect.

The whole idea of using these is to increase the value of your watch. For this you need to have the original dial. But if you want to use these painted dials because you like it then it is a different story.

Hmm, at least in the US, the “new” OP line didn’t come out until around October 2020 due to coved related delays, so you’ve still got some time.
Regardless of when they will not change your black dial to turquoise, my guess blue or silver maybe. The brightly colored dials have always been harder to get and Rolex has never been known to allow swaps to special dials. |

I once called RSC NY about this exact question for an OP36. I considered going the other route; turquoise to black or bright blue. I was told only replacements were allowed, no color changes.

I’m sure many may just prefer the different dial but yes value would increase.

I would on an OP. Let us know if you do end up getting the turquoise dial.
