The greatest music video(s)?

I was youtubing videos I like...Fleet Mac has always been in my top fav 5 bands. Watching the "Silver Springs video" when Stevie glares at Lindsey and he glares back....its like they really hate each other except Mick just keeps playing and the bass player keeps his head down the whole video. I like it being an old lady and we all have some man out there we feel the way Stevie does...but cant put it into a song and sing it.

The Die Antwoord videos that are inspired by the work of Roger Ballen: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Ballen

If I had to pick one Die Antwoord video as the best it would be “I think you’re freaky and I like you a lot.”

If you ever see it, that's me in the corner.

We didn't get cable in our town until 1990.
So all my exposure was from Friday Night Videos.
Think it ran 11 to 1 on NBC and I would stay up for the whole thing every Friday.

The greatest music video(s)?

I remember watching MTV a lot back in the 80s and 90s. None of the videos really stick out. They all blend together. But I do like those Robert Palmer videos.

I also remember thinking that ‘Learn to Fly’ by the Foo Fighters is one of the best songs ever, while at the same time, it’s one of the worst music videos ever. lol

Imho it is not a music video, it is the kindness shown by musicians towards their mates. As a percussionist and drummer, this heartwarming video always brings a tear to my eye. Being a drummer has far greater risk than the other bandmates. So the below, imho, is the best video. Thank you drummers, you are appreciated and valued.

I’ll just put these out there as great music videos and the best fan-made music videos ever. Yes, fan-made. Great songs too by one of my favorite bands:

The correct answer is right here.

It's either this

or this

These are the band's official videos. Man, I miss the eighties.

Devo Whip it is a solid choice.

For me Pink Floyd’s Learning to Fly edges it out. Great visuals and production value to to match the music.

Oh course this is all just a matter of taste.

This live video of New Order performing ‘The Perfect Kiss’ is another favourite. I think it was directed by Jonathan Demme, who also made that great Talking Heads concert film, ‘Stop Making Sense’. https://youtu.be/x3XW6NLILqo?feature=shared
