Help with 16520 potential purchase
Hi guys, Happy 2025!
I’m looking into buying this neo vintage 16520. Single owner watch, full set. Do you see any obvious issues with it? The only thing that caught my eye is the gap between the bracelet and case (mainly one o’ clock but the fit overall doesn’t seem that good). I’ve seen in a few examples, and perhaps is the lightning, but would that indicate some excessive polishing? I’m trying to get more pics. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks! |

There are also flaws on the bezel around the 110 mark. You know how to get a side picture to look at stretch. Compare that to known new samples from the same period, and look at the droop and enlarge to look at spacing.
If there are any other secrets, I'd love to hear about them. |

I'll try to see it in person this week. Other than the minor gap and the obvious polish (which I'm not super against as long as it is well done), I think it looks pretty good. Also a full set, one owner, for $22.5k

Looks like a decent example, albeit based on one photo. What’s the beginning of the serial number? Any service history? Post more photos, including of the full set.
I wouldn’t worry too much about the bracelet fit and a couple of marks on the polished bezel. The watch is about three decades old. It won’t be perfect. I’d focus more on the dial/hands, case and movement condition, and what’s included in the set. |

the indices on the bezel are all legible so it's not too bad polish ...
Lovely looking Daytona btw .. How confident one owner ? not that it matters that much, but has he / she looked after it and kept up services ? what paperwork is with it ?

Looks over polished based on the limits of the picture.

Lugs are soft for my taste (particularly crown-side). Worse than that, however, is the uneven polishing clearly present when comparing the 4 lugs. On a positive note, dial and hands are nice and the bezel isn't too badly polished, either :)
As with everything, if price is reflective of condition, and if you're happy with it, then it's all good

The lugs are too rounded for my taste. There are plenty of these out there in that price range. I’d keep looking.
