Hello, first AP form boutique :)

Hello everyone. I haven’t been as excited for a watch acquisition for a very long time! A few years ago, I visited my AP dealer and showed interest in a Royal Oak. The boutique suggested I start with a Code 11.59 or Off Shore and so I chose an off shore and was added as a “wishlist”. I would pop in the boutique every few months without avail. Last year I had a better discussion with the boutique and purchased a ladies watch for my wife. And to my surprise, last week I was offered a Royal Oak. During this time, I got a suggestion to consider other options besides my preference of black 15510ST. I was worried chrono would be too thick for my 6.75” wrists and asked to stick with RO in black or grey but not white. And a couple of weeks later, I GET THE CALL. Received it and absolutely love it. This is my first ever brand new from boutique AP and hopefully not the last.

I have previously tried Royal Oaks and they were always a little big for my wrist but this one works so well, I think because of the now thinner bracelet. Also, I resized it in the boutique and felt I need to add half a link but now a few days in, I think it’s perfect. My wrists usually fluctuate and with Rolex, I do usually resize using micro adjustment so I was worried this wouldn’t work. The watch is always snug and when I am indoors with AC, it barely allows for my pinky finger to go between the watch and wrist but not enough to move around. Will see in the next few days, maybe I order a 1.5 link for summer, not sure if it is available for the 15510ST.

The next topic will be, what next? 38mm chrono in blue? Diver? Code 11.59 in blue? :)

I love this watch ... congratulations and well worth the wait ..
I do chuckle when someone gets a new watch they always think about the next one, we are all guilty of this and never satisfied ..
I picked up my 126519 last June/July, soon as it was on my wrist I said to my AD, with the wife not looking impressed, that I wanted a Meteorite Dial Daytona, I think it's a default factor inherent in some of us ....

Haha, yes! The waiting time and anticipation defiantly is fueling the plan for the next watch. Not expecting anything this year but also thinking ahead. :) Meteorite Daytoa, absolutely stunning btw.. good luck in your hunt!

Congratulations on such an excellent piece. It looks great on your wrist.

As far as other pieces, did you ever receive an Offshore that you were originally put on the list for?

There are a number of pieces to consider as your next, but hopefully the boutique has some exhibition pieces you can try on first to see what works best for you.

Hello and thank you! No, didn’t get the off shore and honestly, for the best as I think it wears too big.

It looks great! Congrats! Do you think the grey shade is different between the previous 15450st and the enw 15550st?

Just to confirm this is the 15510ST i.e. 41mm?

It looks great on your wrist, I prefer the grey to the black dial, you can see the grand tapisserie detail more. Congratulations!

Pièce of art ! Really elegant with grey dial.
I would sugest code 11.59 next so you have super different styles to enjoy.

Thank you! No idea. But the grey is very versatile, during the day outdoors it’s almost silver, inside without much light, it’s almost black. I love it!

I actually am very much leaning towards the code 11.59 and I think it will get me more points towards the next purchase if bought from AD. I just need to try it in person.

Congratulations!

What a great way to start! The gray really does expose the dial detail.

Absolutely beautiful, congrats! If you go for the Code as your second I think you’ll love it. I have one and could not be happier.

That is in fact stunning! Wear it in the best of health.

I actually passed by the boutique yesterday, thanked them again for the great service and for the watch and tried on a couple of codes. The non chrono better suits my wrist. I asked about the smoked beige dial version and they did highlight that they can allocate one for me “when one arrives”. I can’t seem to justify the cost vs. secondary market but I would much rather buy direct and build up my record.

Thanks:-). Enjoy the search for number two. Hoping to add a second AP next year. Hopefully the AP gods treat us both well!

Congrats! A terrific first piece and looks great on your wrist!

IMO the ruthenium dial is spectacular and very underrated.
