Itchy Trigger Finger on new GMT 18ct
Now that it appears that the SS version is several years off (if ever) The 18ct version is calling my name.
![]() It would mean me saying ta ta to my TT Daytona and Omega Coax/Chrono plus a few pennies extra. This would leave me with this sporty beast and a Navitimer for a daily beater.

I love it - go for it! Make the ultimate statement and get the green dial.

I thought about that Jeff. I know the green dial is supposed to be limited edition but I don't think I could live with it. It just seems a little .... "off ".

I've noticed I tend to prefer things that are a little "off". This must be why I love the GMT Pepsi bezel so much.

Go for it! I reposition watches all the time in order to get what I NEED. Do some people think this is stupid? Of course, but I don't care. It's the WIS in most of us here. I am hoping to have an all gold Rolex within the next 2-3 years. Good luck with your decision.

I am not a fan of all gold myself, but that is IMO the most beautiful model Rolex out right now (new Maxi GMT II). Have you considered the two tone? That is what I am gunning for and should be 1/2 the price which means you have to sell less of your stuff off!

I don't like either one, but I like the green dial a lot less than the black dial. I admit I like the maxi numbers, but I do wish they would have put that on a SS model.
YG just doesn't do anything for me on a tool watch.

The new GMT II is a really hot looking watch. I especially like the green maxi dial. However, the subtleness of the black maxi dial is also pretty cool.
If you can't decide in the dial, then you have NO choice but to buy both! Good luck. |

It is just about the only modern Rolex I would want to buy. SS would be my preferred choice but it appears that Rolex R&D dept is on leave of absence visiting his sick nan.
I have an option on a solid gold one for only 50% more than a TT GMT. Normally it would be 120% more. I think I'll do it. It just means eight hours round trip and £90 fuel though.
