1989 Rolex 14000 Air-King Transitional Winn-Dixie 10 Years Safe Driver Rare Near Mint

For sale is a near mint condition 34mm stainless steel Rolex Air-King “Winn-Dixie 10 Years Safe Driver”. The 14000 is a L725,xxx serial, circa late 1989 / early 1990 production, and is accompanied by its original boxes and manuals.

The Rolex features a brushed steel case, which is accented by a smooth polished steel bezel. The Air-King  is mounted on its original 78350 brushed steel Oyster bracelet whose clasp is stamped with an “O1” clasp code, which corresponds with a production date of January, 1990. The 78350 Oyster bracelet is fully linked, containing 13 full-size links, and sits loose on a 7.5 inch wrist.

The Air-King features a rare transitional “Winn-Dixie 10 Years Safe Driver” factory logo dial with applied polished white gold index hour markers and polished white gold tritium coated hands. These watches were awarded to Winn Dixie employees who drove for a decade without any incidents while behind the wheel. The back of the case is engraved with the first initial and last name of the lucky employee who was awarded the watch from Winn-Dixie. The movement used in the 14000 is the Rolex Caliber 3000, which features approximately 42 hours of power reserve, and is running flawlessly.

Condition:
The case has been preserved exceptionally well, retaining thick even lugs, with razor sharp edges and crisp brush lines. The Oyster bracelet contains little to no stretch, while the coronet on the clasp remains super thick and crisp. The transitional “Winn-Dixie” dial remains flawless, while the tritium lume plots and hands have acquired a light custard colored patina with age. Overall the Air-King is near mint condition, having been preserved exceptionally well, and is a wonderful example of a seldom seen transitional “Winn-Dixie” Air-King.

Shall deliver for $10,450
