Am I the only one on TRF?

... that prefers the bark?

I realize it's dated and Rolex discontinued it for a reason.

I know it's not rare.

Just curious if there is anyone else out there that would actually choose it over another texture if they still had the choice.

...that makes you further repel from 'the bark' ..LOL..

I liked the bark texture on the dial that I saw some Rolex had a long time ago but dont know if I'd prefer it over other today of I had the choice...had not seen the bark pattern on the bezel as Randy has...it looks good

I can't say I'm a big fan of the "bark", as I've had several bark DD's but always sold them.

I do however think they're a part of Rolex history and when opportunity knocks I'll add one to my collection.

I love the bark finish, and it's a shame that it's no longer offered as an option. I think that the 80's and early 90's was a GREAT time to live in, and would rather live in that era than today's crap. One of my personal favorite Day-Date's is a YG Day-date with Onyc Dial (no markers), bark bracelet and bark bezel. I dont know, but something about that combination screams 'class' to me.

No, you are NOT the only one. The Bark DD is a grail watch of mine, actually. I have always liked it.

I can't help it, and I don't want to offend anyone but I cant help seeing the gold and tt dates and dd's and thinking of the 80's yuppies carrying their filofax. Just far too flash for me. Also during the 80's everywhere was flooded with cheap fakes of these, so perhaps deep down that puts me off of them as well.

I never liked the bark finish, I love the PCL, and to replace that with 'wood' never made any sense to me.

BTW, what does it feel like and what is made of? I don't think real 'bark' would hold up, especially being from the 80's

No offense at all!

I knew I was opening myself up to ridicule as well by asking this question!

I knew I held a minority view and surprised to see a few already that have responded that they like it!

All opinions and good natured ribbing are welcome.
