Which Rolex should I buy next?
Hi everyone, first-time poster here!
My Rolex journey began a few years ago, and like many of you, it has grown into a passion that I genuinely enjoy exploring. I’ve been fortunate to add two incredible watches to my collection so far, and I’m now starting to think about what my third piece might be. I’m planning to purchase within the next 3-5 years, with a budget of $60-100k. While I know the golden rule is to “buy what you love,” I’d love to hear perspectives from those who have been deeply immersed in the Rolex heritage for much longer than me. Your insights and experiences are invaluable! Here’s what I currently have (attached image): • Rolex Submariner 124060: My first Rolex, purchased around 2021. It’s my daily wearer and my entry into the world of Rolex. • Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 126500LN: This was probably my “flex” purchase, but I couldn’t resist the iconic white dial. With hindsight, I might have explored other models too, but this piece paired with my Sub is a versatile combo. Thanks in advance for any feedback or recommendations! I’m looking forward to being part of this community and hearing your thoughts. Attachment 1478712 |

Welcome to TRF! Your Rolex collection is starting off very nicely. You have a couple of fantastic pieces there! I think those are both keepers.
For your next watch, how about a GMT? I think a Pepsi, BLNR or a Sprite would go well with your two pieces. Adds a bit of color to your collection? On Jubilee since you already have 2 with Oyster? Or, if you like PM.....Maybe a full Everose GMT/Root Beer or YG Sub with blue dial? If you're looking for a dressier piece, I would consider a Day Date. Lots of options and you have a great budget to work with. Those would be what I would consider if I was in your position. |

Which Rolex should I buy next, the one you want to own and wear that's the only opinion that matters.

I would consider a PM piece. I never thought I would go that route until I tried on the RG Daytona earlier this year. I was sold the moment I put it on!
Each to their own obviously but with that sort of budget you will be looking at something pretty special. If it were me, I would be looking at a platinum Day Date which is different to your others and would compliment the collection you have. Enjoy the hunt! |

So many directions you could go.

With a budget of 100K, I would look at other brands also. There is a lot of bang for the buck on some incredible watches at the moment on the secondary markets.

60-100k for one piece is a lot of money. At that point you gotta answer a few questions. Does it have to be a Rolex? Would you be open to some more classic pieces? What are your thoughts on gold/platinum? What about gold with rubber strap if you don't want a full gold bracelet due to the weight? Would you consider vintage?

Welcome to the forum!
Sounds like you’ve already started your journey with two fantastic pieces. The Submariner 124060 is such a solid daily, and the white-dial Daytona is iconic—hard to beat that duo for versatility. With a budget of $60-100k, the options are endless. If you’re looking to diversify your collection, maybe consider adding a precious metal piece, like a Day-Date 40 or a full gold Submariner. If you want something complicated, the Sky-Dweller could be a great choice—it’s both functional and a real statement piece. For something more under-the-radar but still special, a vintage reference could also be worth exploring, like a birth-year Sub or a vintage GMT-Master. Ultimately, take your time and enjoy the hunt. You’ve got a solid foundation already, so whatever you choose will be a great addition. Looking forward to seeing what you decide! |

$60-100k i suggest you go to Patek/ AP range. If it's gotta be Rolex, recommend you go vintage. But in that range, vintage Rolex shoppers end up looking at the Newman Daytonas anyway, which is still another $100k away.
Patek classics are taking a beating recently. Inline Perpetual Calendar in Salmon showed up for $89k today Dual time annual calendar been showing up for $65k regularly. Patek 5712, 5726, older 5711 available in the low 100's range, sometimes slightly below. AP Precious metal RO41 ranges from $70k-85k? Precious metal jumbo 16202 in the low 100's. 15202or is beautiufl and i think that is around 85? Jumbo around 60? |

Welcome to the forum. If you’re asking for thoughts on your next purchase that is 3-5 yrs away? There’s a WHOLE LOT of things that will change in the watch world, the world in general, watch trends, probably your thoughts on watch brands, your collection philosophy, etc…I’d be asking this question in late 2027 / early 2028.

Which Rolex should I buy next?
With that budget, anything you want! 10 different combo Datejusts? In all seriosness, I would add a GMT, and something in solid gold. Perhaps a DayDate? However, In 3-5 years, you will have new models from which to choose, so why ask now? Show us pics of your collection. Welcome to the forum.

Got a good start with two sport models Steel. Since you've got a pretty good budget you might want to consider a day date. Look over what Rolex has on their website and take your pick seems like your budget might allow you to purchase about anything they have. After that you can rest easy that you have spent on a full precious metal Rolex one of the flagship models that Rolexes had out for a significantly long time. And after that you know settle in with the long haul of perhaps some oyster perpetuals I don't know a Submariner date GMT sky-dweller if your wrist is large enough to support that size just go through the Rolex website see what they have to offer and pick up some of the less expensive ones I'm looking at this from the perspective of a collector so my next watch might not suit what you would want that's what you got to look at what do you want check out the offerings at Rolex has from their website and see which ones speak to you the most.

Thank you all for the replies! I probably did post this a bit prematurely, 3-5 years is a ways away. I agree with looking at other brands will for sure keep my eyes on them, but yes the pepsi with jubilee or the olive dial daydate are the ones I've been thinking about.
Off topic, where would you reccomend contacting for band repair? My father in law has a fantastic Rolex Cellini with an alligator strap and part of the band is peeling off. He asked me if using super glue was ok but I sort of shuddered at the thought of doing something like that to the watch (even though the peel off is minor). I've heard of Rolliworks but open to any suggestions. Happy to be part of the community |
