What if ADs started adopting a competition-style game for Rainbow, LeMans Daytonas?

Something akin to “Hunger Games” or “Survivor”?

It would flip the allocation process on its head!

At least it would be entertaining….

It’s called the off brand jewelry acquisition games. It’s played worldwide.

Extra points for non GIA cert diamonds. “We don’t bother with that because we have an even higher standard here at xyz”

Just so I’m clear, I mean physical challenges that may last 2-3 weeks until all others are defeated!

Yes, it’s already there, is called spend history and Rolex approval to get one, anything of catalogue must be approved by Rolex. Coin flip coming soon!

Cheers,

I don’t have a LeMans but I have a Rainbow. Simple - 30 years of patronage and friendship with my local AD. Started as a young professional, who loved watches - somewhat intimidated buying my first Rolex and as years and budget evolved, progressed into a close friendship and more purchases than I can even recount. When the call came I was truly moved - literally. That’s my story - no bows and arrows and pretty boring lol.

Funny concept.

Which grown man can be deemed 'the one,' among a sea of willing participants, worthy of buying a watch as MSRP? We won't know. But to be considered one mustn't betray their watch salesman, and must help their dealer offload inventory no one else wants in order for them to make their 40+% margins. All in the name of a 'relationship.'

I think The Bachelor-esque game would be more fitting.

That has to be the goal for me now is something gemset. Rainbow is awesome, but SUPER rare. Getting it in a particular metal or combination with additional pave is probably next to impossible without sourcing on the secondary market.

Fortunately I also like much more pedestrian gemset pieces so maybe one day I will be blessed with one!

I mean, doesn't the Survivor win like a million dollar prize? Even after taxes that should be enough to go grey and buy one with still some money left over. If you can win the AD allocation competition style game, surely you can win a competition style game with a prize of a million dollars, then.

The prize would be the allocation at retail.

Lol. You know how it is, when you acquire a new piece it just sets you up for the next one.

We’ll see what comes out at W&W.
