Old or new design more comfortable...
I've been wondering if I should get a current sub or wait for the new one. Most of the features are easy to see in pictures, but I'm curious whether people find the new version of the case (on the GMT2c) more or less comfortable than the sub.
Thanks. |

I find the new style GMT IIc design with the new clasp and fit, alot more comfortable than the traditional flip-lock.

Once it's on your wrist I think you would be hard pressed to feel any difference in comfort.

i tried one on, and in comparison to my SD (thicker, raised case of course) was absolute BLISS in terms of comfort. No comparison IMO. Amazing!

I have the M series SS Submariner and yesterday I tried on the 18k/SS Sub with the ceramic bezel. You probably won't notice too much of a difference on your wrist to be honest, comfort-wise. But the ceramic bezel and the new clasp look so awesome to me. If you're planning on buying the sub new, and if you have the patience (not to mention the probably extra grand for the upgrades) I think the ceramic bezel would be worth the wait.
You should check out the Deepsea to get a feel if you like the black ceramic bezel as it's pretty close to what the sub would look like. |

I absolutely love my GMT IIc with the black dial and black ceramic bezel. The watch looks amazing. I have an F series TT sub also and both are comfortable. I might say my F series sub is a little more comfortable. But, nothing that stops me from wearing my GMT.

I think the GMTIIc rides a little lower on my wrist (caseback sticks out less), but my Sub is lighter overall. They are both comfortable, in slightly different ways. I'm not sure if the new Sub and the GMTIIc will wear the same due to the Sub's greater depth rating.

I own both, and from my perspective there is no contest. The new one is more comfortable.

I've tried on the new TT sub, and really can't tell the difference, comfortwise, on my wrist compared to my 16610. But it sure looked prettier!

The ceramic bezel on my DSSD is amazing. It makes the painted bezel on my GMTII look a lot less wonderful than it used to.
![]() I would wait for the ceramic bezel. ![]() |
