Explorer Domed glass 34mm replacement

Dear Rolex enthusiasts,

I hope this finds you well. My late father left me his Rolex watch, remembering a conversation when I was young about the luminance I foolishly had them touched up when the domed glass cracked. I got the watch back with flat glass and a brighter face. I have been kicking myself ever since. I would like to have both re done but have not been able to find the domed glass. The watch is 34mm probably mid 60s. I anyone could give me a good steer on when to source the domed glass it would be so thankful. It's sentimental value is immense to me and I am so sorry I had it done but just want know to turn the clock back to make it as best as it can be so I can pass one day to my son with the story of how I did my best to bring it back. Thank you so much Daniel

Hello is it a model 1016? If so you’re looking for a T22 acrylic crystal. I have some and sent you a private message.

Can we see photos? Most 1960s Explorers are 36mm, so we need to figure out what you have. If you can remove the bracelet and show photos of the numbers between the lugs, that would also be helpful.

It could be an Explorer 5500. It has more in common with the Air King than an Explorer, great watch at 34mm. I read there was a ten or so year period where the Explorer had many different variants (dials, hands, fonts etc..). Very affordable

Yep, that's why we need more info from the OP.
