Day Date 1807 on fluted bezel option?

I'm looking at 1965 Day date 1807.
The watch is on a leather strap without original bracelet.
It also has a fluted not bark bezel, I assume this has been replaced but does anyone know if a fluted bezel could ever have been specified as an option on an 1807 back in 1965?

That wasn't an option from the factory since the 1807 was sold as a unique configuration of watch and bracelet.

How it got a fluted bezel is anyone's guess.

If you want an authentic 1807 (vs Franken) you should pass unless you want a project that includes finding a proper bezel for that reference.

Thanks for your reply.
I don't like the bark bezel at all so was only looking for an 1803 but came across this 1807 at a good price

What seems like a good price now could end up being an expensive project (e.g. adding a bracelet) and difficult to sell in the future. So it had better be dirt cheap.

It wouldn't be a project at all.
I don't want to add a bracelet, I have seen other 1807s for sale with fluted bezels and don't see the issue, I wanted an 1803 and found this ideal watch for me, lowest priced currency available in the UK by some margin, with a good looking case, crisp fluted bezel and just serviced.
I did find from my research evidence that the 1807 could have a fluted bezel factory fitted new on request and that was my only question if anyone else on here agreed with my findings.
