Hello Rolex Forum,
I’m writing to get some advice on a vintage Rolex Ref. 1002 from the 1960s that I’m incredibly fortunate to have inherited. This watch has been in my family for a long time and has certainly seen its fair share of use and adventure. However, as shown in the picture, there’s a noticeable scratch on the dial, right under the "L" in "Rolex." I have a bit of OCD when it comes to details like this, and it’s been bothering me quite a bit. I'm considering having the dial restored. Since I have no intention of selling the watch, I’m not too concerned about restoration affecting resale value. My main priority is ensuring that the work is done with high quality. I’ve been looking into V. Soni Dials in London for the restoration and was wondering if anyone here has experience with them or can vouch for their work. I’d really appreciate any recommendations on how to proceed and whether restoration is the right choice for a watch like this. Thanks in advance, and I’m glad to be part of the Rolex family! |

That might be a good candidate for some polyWatch- go at the crystal's problem areas with some of that polish and a soft cloth.

Because it’s an heirloom I would want to keep the same dial

Likewise perhaps a full RSC service and light polish but leave the rest as original to the watch.
