Yatchmaster16628 (all gold) vs YM 116655 (rubber strap)

I currently own a 1994 YM 16628 and was thinking of replacing it with the 116655 or the 126655. I almost pulled the trigger in Vegas last December but decided to hold on. The AD in Vegas was giving me $18k for my watch and would have to add an additional $12k + tax for the 116655. I do like my YM, and do understand they are totally different watches. I do love the rose gold, but I also like the gold bracelet on the 16628. With that being said, does anyone have any thoughts on why it would be beneficial to make that trade? Also, if I get the 122655 I would have to sell the 16628 or else my wife would kill me. Thanks

Can’t comment on what you should do, but if considering an Everose YM, I would strongly recommend the 126655 because the mini glidelock on an Oysterflex is a great improvement in terms of adjusting the strap during different seasons.

I own the 126655 and it’s one of my favorite pieces. I also own an Aquanaut and the inability to adjust the strap is a real pain. Had to buy an additional strap for summer months.

agreed, if you decide to get the YM40 on OF then definitely get the 126655 not the 116655, the mini-glide lock will make all the difference.

Just looking at both watches on the secondary market, and that seems like a horrible trade from a financial perspective. In the UK, you can buy a 16628 for around 18k, and a 116655 for £21k. If the dealer is asking for $12k + tax on top, then he is having your pants down.
