Sprite GMT--Wait list? Still in production?

Hi

Has anyone heard whether or not the GMT Sprite will be produced this year?
I have been on the wait list at two different Rolex AD with purchase history for almost a year.
Thanks.

Nice one, you just walk into any Rolex AD and buy any model you want there and then … sweet …

It might get discontinued but I don't think it's going to be. But you never know.

He's technically not wrong in that it's not a wait list per se. It's an intention list. WL would imply that everyone gets allocated in order they are placed on the list. Intention list implies they take all names down and based on the sales history, they pick who to allocate. If you're VVIP you may even get one from the safe and completely bypass the wait. We just call it WL cause we're used to calling it that.

It's heading towards retail on the grey market irrespective of what some of the sellers on the classifieds want you to belive . May not quite get there but it won't be too far off IMHO

It's in the 14k+ range now. Lots available on the grey market. Again irrespective of what the chancers and dealers price it at they are historically falling since release and the trajectory is still down with a few bumps on the way.. IMHO.

Maybe a dead cat bounce IF it gets discontinued this or next year but let's see what the future brings..

I personally feel it'll end up in the 12k to 13k bracket (or track RRP + a small %) but I'm sure you professionals know the market much better than l

I don’t think you’re catching what I’m throwing.

I have ZERO interest in (acquiring) this watch.

Enjoy your weekend in Tenerife!

Welcome to TRF! Nobody ever knows for sure if something is going to be discontinued or not. Only Rolex knows! Anything that you hear is just a rumor.

As for you being on waitlists at 2 AD's......Just out of curiosity, have you been visiting each one on a regular basis? If not, you should be doing that. You need to keep reminding them that you are still interested, and will also hopefully keep your name on the top of their "list". You want your name to pop into their head when the next VTNR arrives. Even with purchase history, if you don't keep going in and showing your face, you will easily be forgotten. Best of luck.

My lefty dad loves his. Awesome timepiece for those who are tired of using right-handed timepieces. OP surely is a lefty too, as I think this model Rolex should prioritize to those who are left-handed of course.

Good luck. I waited a year for mine. Don't pay attention to the "waitlist" stories some share. Each AD is different. I have been on the waitlist at my local AD for 4 different watches and have gotten all 4! Each at about the wait time I expected.

Nope, don’t agree, you - ‘wait’ and you’re on a - ‘list’ …
It’s your interpretation of what it means, not what it means to me …
Every single AD there is has a different strategy that’s impossible to know unless you visit each one, tickle there feet with burning paper till they confess …
Semantics, you have your viewpoint that trust me I respect, and I have mine,

This one is one of my favorites, I try to make it a habit to not own a watch more than one time but this one for whatever reason keeps coming back. I’m not kidding, I’ve owned it three different times. I guess the third time is the charm. The first time I owned it I did buy it from the Gray market with anticipation of it being cancelled. I guess third time is the charm As I plan on keeping it. I hope you get one soon. It really is great.

Life is short buy the watch.

Hard to say what will happen if it is discontinued. This is historic for Rolex, a LH production watch that has the date on the 9 side. If they hype that concept, it might take off in retirement.
My AD didn't think the Hulk would take off, they struggled to sell them while in production.
(Too green my SA said) Look what happened.

You are making sense if it's For a well loved used polished one maybe, if you are talking in British Pound. From what I know ADs doesn't get enough of these to keep in vault. And these are not a quick same day sellers at greys at the moment. The crazy initial $40k usd resell price when VTNR came out was due to both the pandemic market and also hype created by the celebs and athletes wears them. Although We may not know what future holds. My 2cents is these will always settle slightly above the blnr.
