Odds of getting a 126000 by July

Hey everyone,

I put in a request with my AD last month for a 36mm Oyster Perpetual 126000 in either Turquoise or Candy Pink. I’m hoping to get it by late July as a gift for my wife’s 40th birthday. Given the demand for these colors, I wanted to see what my chances are of actually getting one in that timeframe.

I made it clear to my AD that this is my priority, and I also have a request in for a two-tone GMT Master II, which seems to be more readily available. I asked them to prioritize the OP for my wife, but I know how unpredictable Rolex allocations can be.

I’m definitely not willing to pay grey market prices for this model, so if it’s unlikely to come through, I need to start considering other options. For those with experience or recent allocations, how realistic is it to expect an OP 126000 in Turquoise or Candy Pink within about six months from an AD?

Appreciate any insights!

Hi, I waited 14 months for my tiffany 36, I understand the hesitation going gray because of price. Hot pink , not sure about.

If color is the priory, maybe consider another brand.

Best Chris

Hard to say. It’s based on a lot of factors but mostly your importance to the dealer, and availability.

I hope you land one soon

Step 1: call dealer
Step 2: ask dealer how likely it is that you'll get the watch you want for your wife by July
Step 3: note their answer
Step 4: hang up phone

I visit the to Ad's here in Charlotte and the answer I received is "possibly". I have a little spend at one($5-10K) and none at the other. I don't think I'd buy another brand at this point as I know this is a watch she loves. I'd probably just shift to jewelry and wait it our for another occasion if I can't get it by July.

Unfortunately, you have asked for the two hottest colors. It’s unlikely that you will get one in that time frame. I waited a full year for the silver dial. I never saw a candy pink or a Tiffany come into my AD, and I visited regularly. There is also the possibility that one or both colors will be discontinued, after W & W. You should probably call one of our Trusted Sellers for this one. Good luck!

The Candy Pink is tough to get...

I have a pretty good relationship with AD and I requested both GRNR in Jubilee and Candy pink and they told me my GRNR is guaranteed within 90 days whereas the Candy pink they can't make promises on.

I hope you're able to get it! Very special birthday for the wife.

Why not just buy the watch elsewhere? They only go for $10-12k on the secondary market. Cheaper than many Rolex MSRPs.

You should bear in mind that it’s particularly complicated with OPs because of the range of colours …. an SS Submariner is in one or two colours….the OPs are numerous sizes and colours…., therefore ADs receive less of each one

Don't trust your AD for anything. Seriously. If you have a life or special event, most likely your AD is not going to do anything for you. Plan on going grey. My AD has disappointed me over and over and over again with each and every request I've ever done.

I would say odds aren’t good. As noted above with all the sizes and dial colors in the catalog, most dealers don’t get lots of each configuration and you’ve asked for two of the “hottest” in 36mm.

Nashville Watch has a 36mm Tiffany Blue in stock. 2025 unworn. Chase is great to work with and is a trusted dealer here on TRF.

My crystal ball says highly unlikely in that time frame. Maybe even 6 years for a minimal spend client

This would be the guaranteed pathway.

Well, sounds like the best option is to punt. I’ll probably hold off buying anything until a week or two out and then make the call. I just really can’t bring myself to pay double MSRP for anything.

There is a Candy Pink in the classifieds (East Coast Timepieces out of TN):

Reference: OP 126000 36mm Candy Pink

Year: 2023

Condition: Excellent with minor Hairlines

Contents: Full Set with white tag

$10,250 and Label

Located in Tennessee

Credit Cards accepted for a 3.8% fee
Crypt0 accepted for 2%

All trades considered.

Plenty of references
Cell: 931-431-8141
IG: Ectimepieces

I have seen it in person, and the pink is absolutely gorgeous (very feminine) on a lady's wrist.

Honestly it all depends on your purchase history. Buying the tow tone gmt might help you get it. Pink is tougher then turquoise. They get less pink.

At one of them $0, the other is under $10k. I really appreciate all the feedback! Unless the grey/preowned gets to $2k over or less I’ll just wait it out.

I am in your area and I am picking up a 31mm turquoise on Saturday, dropped by to casually discuss in 2023 and started seriously asking in June 2024 so about 8 months. I asked for either 36 or 31 and got the call for 31mm today. I had started thinking over the last few weeks that 31 probably works better for my wrist size so it's all good. I have been purchasing from this AD since 2008- Rolex, Cartier watches, jewelry.

Just giving you my experience, best of luck

Unfortunately the odds are against you. 1 of my AD’s is a boutique and they only sell Rolex watches.
I have received multiple watches including a 36 OP pink and a 41 OP green. My SA told me the pink is the hardest of them all because it is gender specific and the turquoise is just so popular.
I wish you luck!

Both are very tough gets, as is the green 36 or 41, colors that you should be able to get are Black, Blue and the Silver. Also depends on your spend history and the size of your dealer.

Cheers,

Just go grey. I got a 12/24 dated unworn OP36 pink for $10750 on eBay. With tax at dealer it would have been just under $7k. Turquoise (wife’s)is in the $13k. Pink can be found just above $10k. Do it now in case it gets discontinued. Then prices will shoot back up. My yellow cost me $16k 2 months ago. Rarest of the bunch.

Good luck!
