Info on Patek Philippe Watch

I am new to the forum, and am looking for information on a watch my wife inherited. It is not for sale, and we are not looking for an appraisal. We would just like to know the approximate vintage and model of the watch. Also, we are wondering if the gold band might be original to the watch. I have looked on the internet at other Patek watches, and have been unable to find one like this.

Thank you all for any information you can provide us!

John

Try a reverse image search. Several possible matches.

Thanks for the helpful hints. I had never googled an image, before. That worked pretty slick. I did find a few matches that were very close. I might take it to a reputable watch repair shop, have them open it up, and snap a few photos of the insides.

Info on Patek Philippe Watch

You can also reach out to John reardon on collectibility. He is The authority on Patek vintage watches.

But previous poster seems to be correct about the 1564 model.

I was able to get some photos of the inside of my watch. See attached. Would these help determine vintage and model? Also, does anyone know if the gold band is original to the watch. Thank you for any info.

Cheers,
John

Lovely old Patek

No reference number - but some older models never had the reference number on the case

Movement is a 9-90

You can get an extract from PP to authenticate that he case and movement numbers match
Dial looks original

case made by Wenger ( no 1 in key marking)

Bracelet probably not but a nice touch

Get it serviced and enjoy wearing this piece of history

Thank you very much for the information, Julian. Maybe I will go ahead and pursue getting a certificate from PP. Would be nice to have with the watch.

Serial number would put it in the early 1940's.

John - What a great watch and your wife is fortunate to have it. Thanks for the close up movement photos. I notice that the balance wheel pivot is not in a jewel as the other pivots and has no apparent balance pivot shock assembly. Maybe some vintage experts can comment on if or how these vintage movements were shock protected. Maybe people in the 1940s were just more careful!
