Looking for a Good RSC

I am going to want to service my 16600 SD year 2008 after two upcoming trips I will be taking... Watch is running fine, more of a check and oil... I do not want any polishing done... Which RSC in North America has the best rep and fastest turn around ??? What is the approximate rate ??? Thanks in advance.

There is a highly regarded RSC in Ormond Beach. Give them a try.

The closest to you is likely Dallas for company owned.

Bigham Jewelers in Naples is an affiliate Service Center. .

OK, I am new to the Rolex ways... I thought you should always go to a RSC for general service, pay somewhere about 900 plus and get the watch back with a 2 year warranty... If I go to a outside source do it get the warranty ??? Is going to a non Rolex service center cheaper or faster ?? Will they be able to water pressure test it ??

Rolex has a couple of corporate owned Service Centers.

They also have a network of Dealer shops that are affiliate Service Centers who meet Rolex strict service requirements, have the proper tools and accreditations, and provide a legitimate 2 year Rolex warranty.

It is possible that they send the Sea Dwellers back to Rolex Corporate for a full pressure test if they don't have that particular item. Just ask.

Looking for a Good RSC

Speaking for myself, I do both. RSC for Rolexes that are lifetime keepers for me and my family.

But I also use Rolex certified watchmakers too. Especially if it's an older reference or less complicated movement. That saves money.

I take mine to Kerns Jewelry in Nor California and they send it to RSC.
Thts what probably the one in Ormond does....and in turn you do get the warranty either way....

I miss Ormond and Daytona

This. Another vote for Dallas. I just had a fantastic experience with them. Great customer service. Less than 3 weeks on a complete overhaul.

Looking for a Good RSC

Serviced M serial 16600 two years ago for ~$750 at RSC Dallas, shipped via my AD, which cost $0 to ship.

Same here. Used Dallas RSC about 2 months or so ago and had it back within 3 weeks. Amazing.

The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was that they mandated crystal replacement. Mine had absolutely no issues that I could discern, and I am extremely picky. I told them I’d prefer to keep the original in place to avoid an “s” marked crystal and keep it all original. They said they would not do anything to the watch if I did not authorize the replacement. The reason, they said, was that the cyclops had slight wear/cloudiness, therefore diminishing functionality. I authorized, but still maintain that the cyclops was very clear.

Also- my green bezel was slightly faded. I liked it. They offered to replace that but would not (as I expected) give me the old one back. Now I know why that is and how it works, and offered to buy the old one- again to hang onto original parts. Nope- no go (again as I expected.)

Still, though, not complaining. They were extremely polite and very responsive…and very quick. I’d use them again without reservation.

If you don’t want it polished you can sent it to lots of independents as well and save some

Rolex Dallas is the only one I will use and have had excellent results EVERY time. Won't bother with AD authorized service at all.

Daytonas used to be sent to their facility in Lititz, PA for servicing. Don't know if that's still the case.

If your AD has service check them out. I've been happy with my two AD's services. The advantage is there is no risk of loss during shipping also in my case they were cheaper than the RSC pricing. They also get full Rolex warranty.

If it’s running fine, why bother wasting your money?

I got a brand new submariner in 1994, I wore it for 8 years before passing it on to my brother.

It just had its first service last year!

Honestly, if the watch is running fine and you don’t want it polished, I’m not sure why you’d want to spend the money sending it in for service. At some point, it will stop running fine and you can send it in then. The RSC will then replace any damaged or worn movements parts. These are not FP Journe or even Patek movements. They are workhorses. I don’t think preventative maintenance is really necessary.

Opposite for me. I am never sending my keepers to any RSC due to tail risks, instead, I'm searching high and low for the very best independent I can get to know personally; still WIP.

Just cannot understand why myself sent plenty in to various RSC world wide never ever had any problems over 50 odd years. And RSC must service thousands of watches every year and not many have any problems and most are over exaggerated by todays pampered Rolex watch owners.

That's a much harder game plan nowadays methinks. Primarily because Rolex has cancelled so many indie watchmaker parts account holders. That practically closes the door for them to get Rolex training for the new movements.

I get your point on risk - but tail risks are so rare at an RSC that I've never had one in 25 years.

Hence "tail risks". To each their own, glad to hear it's worked for you and that you're happy with it. I perhaps ought to have preface that I am very particular when it comes to my watches. I am the king of pampering. I make stickering watches look like child's play. When God saw my pampering he said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. True story.

Again New Here, I was told it should be serviced/ oil/ checked out every 5 to 7 years... as this has not been done almost 17 years I thought it was time.

I wish there was an AD that really leaned into servicing and maintaining vintage and neo vintage pieces so you could rest assured you’re getting the Rolex 2 year service warranty but also know you’re voice is being heard on maintaining as much originality as possible. Going through RSC sometimes there’s a lot of cooks in the kitchen and things get lost, like do not polish or even the ability to talk to someone about why a replaced part is necessary versus optional
