Felt a little Germanic today.....

See, going to the Lange presentation was bad, but in a good sorta way. I'll let the photos do the talking.
The GO Pilot's watch is 44.2 mm in diameter and imo doesn't look too large. I never thought I would believe that! I bought my wife the Lange Arkade in the ladies size with a black strap. It has to be ordered from the factory, but hopefully, it's here for the holidays. I like to call it the Lady Lange.
Oh, yes, both watches purchased at an AD. 25% off on the GO and 32% off the Lange. Don't ask me where I bought them; I've been sworn to secrecy.

So they're entering IWC territory now! Very nice watch but I'm puzzled by two things: the wooden ring in the case and the button at 8 o clock??????

Hi Frans,
the wooden ring is a loupe to admire the fine Teutonic craftsmanship, I presume. The button at 8:00 is the second hand reset to zero function button. It's used for synchronizing the watch to a reference signal, or I suppose one could use it as a 60 second chrono without the ability to stop the watch. Maybe for checking your pulse.

They're both beauties. I hope your wife likes hers when she gets it.

My wife was with me and isn't a WIS. In fact, she could never imagine paying the list price for the watch and wouldn't let me buy it unless I could save a lot of money.
It wasn't too hard to drive the hard bargain. In fact, I wish I got 32% off the other 2 Langes. The best I could do with either of them was 25% off from the same AD.
Anyway, she's tickled pink as they say.

You could have even saved more by not buying the watches

Congrats Marc - that GO is nice. We saw the version with date this weekend.....I prefer it without the date myself.

Sorry guys, I'm dredging up this old thread as I've found some photos on the net of the Caliber 100 which drives the Senator Navigator. The Cal. 100 is a new design built for the Senator line. With the exclusion of the Navigator models, I believe the case size runs at 40 mm, so I'd guess there's a spacer ring for the Senator Navigator as it's 44.2 mm in diameter. I'm not sure I approve of the spacer, but for the price, one gets a hand made, hand finished movement, so why should I worry?
The model is designed with the traditional 3/4 plate, but you'll notice that GO split the plate into two pieces. I suppose it's for ease of installation and take down during a repair, all of which should lower costs to the end user. IMO, the Cal. 100 is nice to look at and quite yeoman, too.
The Senator Navigator line uses a solid case back, so I never knew until now what the movement looked like. I almost think that the solid case back is there to hide a movement that may have a scratch or two and therefore not pass the QC test for the display back, but that may be just my paranoic thinking.

Now thats one superb looking movement ,and talking about GO.Had a parcel this morning, sometime ago sent off for a DVD on recommendation of Al Now all I had then was a catalogue and DVD,but today a very nice hard cover Glashutte Original book.Plus the Momentum magazine for contemporaries must say a lot better that many other manufactures give away.

The calibre 100 is certainly a step up in design from the calibre 39 (not that there is anything wrong with the Cal. 39, but the 100 is a bit nicer IMO). The finishing that GO does is quite good, and I doubt very much that they use solid casebacks to hide scratches, so yes I think you are being a bit paranoid there Marc.

And the small movement in the big case - I've seen much worse examples than from GO, that's for sure!

Yeah I read about someone being unhappy with the spacer ring in his PAM190 last week. LOL you know life is good when...

BTW, the finish of the GO movements never ceases to amaze. Just stunning watches! I'm still jonesing for that Sport Evo I had on my wrist in TO.
