What are you choosing? Aquanaut or Royal Oak?

Would love some thoughts about these two watches. Both are basically the same price.

1. 5066a- 36mm aquanaut, tritium dial and hands (comes with bracelet too).
2. 4100BA Royal Oak. 36mm, yellow gold, great condition.

Any thoughts of the group? Or owners of either watch?

RO of course. Aquanaut actually it was introduced by Patek for the new collector, a younger audience. If i remember correctly was priced at 16k so it was accessible money wise. RO in the other hand was the original genta, it’s in a class of their own .
It just that now everything has gotten out of proportion but if you know , you know.

I like the design of the Aqua better and think it more versatile, but the RO seems like a good deal if same price. So depends on what else you have in your collection and when you intend to wear?

Btw respect you're taking boutique wrist shots while wearing a baby haha. Having 3 kids of my own all still under 6, I sympathize and can only wish you best of luck!

Rest of the collection is just stainless steel sports watches, mostly rolex and lots of 4 digit vintage!

Haha- we actually have twins too- so they're bloody hard work! 5 months old atm!

Ha! My twins are 2.5 now. Trust it gets easier...eventually!

Given your collection, think it may be time to go gold RO...

Although having said above, I did stop wearing any yellow gold pieces when I was out and about with my family. Just something I felt self conscious about. I'm strictly a white gold/as guy most days. YMMV

Ye that's what I'm leaning towards. I've always been a white metal person. Even my dress watches (Langes) are white metal. I'm worried that the 5066 will just fade into the background of just another steel sports watch. Whereas the AP might feel more special in a way

It’s definitely the Aquanaut for me. I love the Aquanaut line and I don’t like APs.

I have the royal oak but not the aquanaut. But between the two, it’s a no brainer for me, the royal oak wins!!!
That royal oak bracelet is a killer, the dial, the bezel…… it’s all better on the royal oak
