NTTD Broken

I got a bit of a nasty surprise when I was wearing my no time to die today. It all of a sudden went loose and when I took it off, I noticed that the class was snapped. Anybody else have trouble with these? Seems like some others on Reddit had seen similar issues.

Oh no! Sorry to see this, but you seemed to catch this just in time. Thankfully the watch wasn't otherwise damaged or lost because of that.

Hopefully you can order the replacement part and have it there soon to continue enjoying the watch.

I would send the bracelet back to Omega and see what they say and do. I had both the bracelet and the NATO for my NTTD so it would be NATO time until repaired/replaced. Let us know how this works out.

Took it to the boutique yesterday. Unfortunately, they said I l have to send in the entire watch for them to cover it. Their estimate is 12 weeks to get it back. Thankfully I have other watches or l'd be even more pissed and tempted to sell it when I get it back(already somewhat tempted to trade it on something else).

Glad they're going to sort it out for you but man, up to 12 weeks is a while. Like you say, at least you have the other watches to enjoy until then.

Should you decide to sell or trade it (I would also be tempted to do so after this), you've got many options. Here's to them getting it back to you much sooner than their specified timeline, somehow.

Same thing happened to me, in the same spot. Ended up going to my OB in King of Prussia PA. Told me that this was more wear and tear and would not be covered under warranty. Ended up paying out of pocket. I've since had multiple people reach out to me and say warranty fixed theirs for a similar break. Definitely go through warranty. Got screwed by the sales person at the OB.

I would go directly to Omega Corporate and have a conversation about the AD and what occurred. I would ask for a refund from Omega and see what they say. Bad AD.

What's the point in sending the whole watch to them? Weird rules they have to follow.

I reached out to the generic customer service contact info on their site, pretty much told me to pound sand and deal with the OB that I went to, not entirely sure they read my entire message either:

I can suggest reaching out to the retailer/location you have purchased your OMEGA timepiece from, this way they may better assist. In addition, you may contact our service department as well.
I have provided the contact information for your viewing/convenience below.

No drop is a good ending.

Could be one of those non Swiss made parts there has been such a buzz about.

I'll be honest, I'd be furious if they told me that. Send in the entire watch to fix a break in the clasp?? Especially given that Omega touts their tool watch nature and reliability. The KOP AD should have given you a new clasp in the store itself and called it a day.

This was Omega’s response. “Thank you for contacting us, and we apologize for any inconvenience you've experienced with your watch.

Please note that without having the timepiece in our possession, we are unable to assess its condition or provide an accurate evaluation.

Attached is a list of our authorized service facilities, along with mailing instructions. You’re welcome to return your watch to the nearest location. Once we receive it, we will conduct a thorough review and provide you with a detailed evaluation.”

I’m pretty sure I’m going to trade it after I get it back. Thinking of either an OP or a Grand Seiko.

Grand Seiko Service is even more frustrating than Omega, with a considerable number of watches going to Japan.

Rolex, regardless of the occasional incident here and there, is still the best for factory service.

Everything can certainly have issues. I’ve had my eye on a few of the GS models to diversify my collection. I haven’t given up on Omega, but this particular model while really cool has some significant drawbacks(bracelet and legibility being the biggest for me). I currently have 5 Rolexes (Zombie, WG Daytona, Starbucks, and my wife’s 2 OP 36’s). I do really want to get an OP 41 for myself as well.

Yikes—that’s rough. Heard about similar breaks on Reddit too. Hopefully Omega sorts it out quick for you!

Interesting follow-up by Omega. Please keep us posted as this progresses.
